My husband and I traveled to Italy for our wedding and stayed at San Anselmo. The hotel is gorgeous, quaint and quiet. It was so nice to be able to escape from the throngs of people and tourists during the day this hotel at night. The breakfast in the morning was great. The room was clean, large compared to other... My second stay at this fabulous boutique hotel. I never even considered a stay at a different hotel in Rome. I've read through some other reviews and noticed some comments from people who have obviously not done their homework. If you want to be in the maddening crowds of Rome do not stay here. If you want to feel like... More

This was the third hotel my wife and I stayed at for out Italy honeymoon and it didn't disappoint. A quick summary: 1)Book early and the rates are extremely good 2)This hotel is located in a ritzy suburb of Rome, not a tourist district. So prepare to be snobbed by everyone and not take it to heart. 3) there are... More

We spent 4 nights here on our honeymoon and were very happy. The staff were very helpful and attentive without being overbearing, and we appreciated the little touches like the staff remembering which room we were in when we went for breakfast. The concierge that was at the main reception desk during the afternoon/evening was particularly polite, helpful and welcoming.... More

Absolutely gorgeous room, view, and decor throughout the hotel. We were greeted at the reception desk with glasses of fresh orange juice. Stunning breakfast spread, including salmon and fruits. However, this is definitely intended for travelers relying on taxis to get to and from stations with their luggage. There are no nearby metro or bus stops, and lots of hills... More

Fantastic little hotel with very attentive staff. Even put a kettle in our room upon request at no extra charge. Breakfast was very good. A good walk from nearest station (& up quite a steep hill) but on the whole worth every penny.

The Hotel San Anselmo, is situated in a quiet residential area and only a 10 minute stroll to the Circo Massimo (Circus Maximus), where you can start a whole day's walking, viewing and marveling at a wonderful city. The hotel is an impressive building that captures a lot of what you will see in Rome. It has a small reception,... More

My brother and our significant others stayed here for 4 days in August 2013. As we have family in the center of Rome, it was a bit further from the center than I usually stay but so well worth it! The hotel is an easy walk to some of the best ruins in Rome as well as close proximity to... More

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 5 days of a 3 week stay in Italy and I wish I could have stayed here for longer. The hotel, the service, the rooms went beyond my expectations. It was a quiet oasis in a very crowded and busy city and although it was not in the central part of... More

What is not to love about this real hidden gem. The rooms are incredible, the garden is relaxing and private, and the staff cannot do enough to assist. Recommend breafast in bed, or in the garden. We stayed in room 806 (I think) which had its own entrance accessed up a few stone steps from the rear garden; it was... More
