My partner and I stayed at Hotel San Anselmo for three days during September and were not disappointed with the hotel after finding it on TripAdvisor. The neighbourhood was extremely quiet and was within walking distance to the Colosseum and other sights in Rome (around 10-15 minutes). I must also praise the buffet breakfast which had a variety of things... More

In my opinion, the #1 feature of this hotel is its location in a lovely neighborhood in the Aventine. It is a relatively quiet residential neighborhood, very safe. After jostling through crowds all day seeing the sights in Rome, it was wonderful to come back to this lovely place. There is a beautiful garden sitting area as well as nice... More

My husband and I stayed at this fabulous hotel the final leg of our journey before flying home. Hotel staff is warm, welcoming and very attentive. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely. The Englishman's Cemetery is a short walk down the hill and not to be missed. We had to leave for the... More

This family owned hotel, one of a small group in the same locality, offers a consistently excellent standard of elegant hospitality. It is beautifully appointed, in a delightful Roman location and the staff are most attentive to the needs and requests of their guests. After the hustle and bustle of sightseeing it is a welcome relief to return each day... More

Exceptional hotel in a quite residential area within walking distance (or a short cab ride) to all the major Rome sites. Hotel staff is extremely professional, courteous and attentive to their guests. I found the service every bit the equivalent of what one would expect to find at a 4-5 star US hotel. As just one example, during our last... More

Wife found this hotel on TA, and we didn't regret staying there for the first time in late Sept. One can walk from Ostiense train station in 20-30 min. if you're in good shape for the last 10 min. up the hill to the hotel. Pulling 100 lbs.+ of bags made for a good workout....my fault. The nearby Pyramid metro... More

My wife and I (we're 27 years old) stayed at the San Anselmo in September 2014. The rooms were small which I expected to be the case in Italy. However, two other hotels we stayed in (Florence and Positano) had quite sizable rooms so San Anselmo's turned out to be the smallest. Our favorite part of the hotel was breakfast.... More

Experiencing Rome for the first time, my husband and I wanted somewhere special to stay and having searched online, no-where else had anything like the character offered by Hotel San Anselmo. Having read previous reviews, we were confident we had chosen well and are delighted to say that every good comment is absolutely true. We have just enjoyed a three-day... More

This is a perfect little hotel, nestled close to the river, across from a Benedictine Monastery and just a 24 minute walk to the Coliseum and 15 minute taxi to the Vatican. Every room has its own decor, so if you are considering booking, check out their website with pictures. We stayed in the deluxe double Mille Baci (pictures included... More

My husband and I spent six nights in this beautiful boutique hotel in early September. Our room was a bit on the small side but very comfortable, quiet and clean. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a wide enough choice to satisfy most people and the option to eat it in the glorious tranquil little courtyard garden made the perfect... More
