I booked this hotel following Trip advisor reviews... And they were right. The hotel was great ... Classic decor... Rooms with high ceilings ... Wooden floors .. Waking distance from Vatican and Piazza del Popolo. Breakfast at the terrace was excellent...plenty of food and fresh squeezed orange juice, which I love. Everybody there was very attentive and go the extra... More

We stayed at the Hotel Farnese twice in the autumn of this year and loved our stays. The hotel is comfortable and luxurious with lovely rooms and spacious bathrooms. The lobby is charming and the bar is small, comfortable and intimate. You can store a bottle of wine at the bar and have a glass at your leisure. The staff... More

From the moment we stepped into Hotel Farnese, we knew we chose the best hotel for us in Rome. It is in the Prati district and very close to the Vatican. Breakfast every morning was delicious and they even served American coffee if you wanted it. We enjoyed walking around town and this location was just a few steps from... More

Hotel Farnese is a beautiful small hotel in a quiet section of Rome. There is nothing the staff won't do for you. You are about 1 mile from the Spanish Steps or the Vatican. Rome is a very easy city to get around in by foot and this hotel is close to some of the major sites . The bedroom/bathroom... More

The exterior and entry are very handsome; one gets the sense of entering a 19th century urban mansion. The rooms, however, also feel like a 19th century urban mansion, brought haphazardly into the 20th century: * A noisy air-conditioning unit for the room above, that could not be silenced or otherwise affected from my room. * A bathroom with a... Clean and comfortable room with nice sized bathroom. The staff were fantastic and the free breakfast far exceeded our expectations. Free WiFi and there is a metro stop less than 1 block away which is very convenient. We will definitely stay here the next time we visit Rome!

The hotel is a in a great location on a quiet street, 15 mins walk from the Vatican. The entire place is spotless and the staff cannot do enough for you, all very warm and friendly. Our room was typical of the size of Italian 4 star hotels but very nicely furnished. Our bathroom was very large, quite unexpected. The... More

What a lovely property to stay at while in Rome, away from the crowded touristy areas, yet, a stones throw fro the Vatican and Piazza Popolo. Steps way from the Lepanto Metro on the A line, this hotel is aces. A few repairs needed to be addressed in the room, which were taken care of, immediately. The breakfast is spectacular,... More

A lovely, sort of boutique, hotel in a quiet residential area but only a short walk to the Vatican City and the other attractions of Rome. Very attentive and helpful staff, nothing seemed too much trouble. Nice sized room on 3rd floor but bathroom a bit on the small side but bearing in mind the property's history, it was adequate.... We arrived in Rome 6 days before Easter Sunday so you can imagine the hotel situation in the city. Originally, we were booked another hotel, which turned out to be a total disaster. We literally walked in and walked out, toting our luggage down the streets of Rome hoping to find a place to stay. We noticed Farnese along our... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
