The room was very spacious, but the mattress was a bit firm. The hotel is located on a very peaceful street within a 5 minute walk of the Vatican. We enjoyed walking to the Vatican in the evening. The staff was quite friendly.

Great little hotel located within 200 metres of the entrance to St Peters Square. I found the hotel clean, tidy and most importantly friendly. During my stay there was the normal mix of business and leisure customers. As for meals there are countless restaurants within a very sort walk.

After a fortnight in Spain with friends, I had a couple of days to spare before heading home. I decided on a quick Rome stopover as it had been many years since I last visited. The Hotel Sant'Anna was highly recommended but I had no particular expectations. Which is why I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. My twin room... More

We have stayed at Hotel S'Anna, Rome, which is easy walking distance to St. Peter's Basilica, twice, once in July 2015 and once in March 2005. Our room was ready for us when we arrived at about 10:30 am from the airport! They offer a complementary buffet breakfast in their basement, which is attached to the courtyard and is decorated... The hotel is a few blodks from St Peters and an easy wald to the vatical museum and castle st angelo. We had a quad room - queen bed and 2 twin beds for our family of 4. The room had ample size and a great bathroom. The breakfast was great - hot and cold options and very good coffee.... More

This is a fantastic hotel and literally 5 minutes from the Vatican! The staff are brilliant and the breakfast was a home from home. There is a lovely garden area at the rear of the hotel where smoking is permitted. Useful if you are an addict like me!! The room was a little small but very clean and comfortable. Again,... More

We had a quad room and it was very large - a king sized bed plus 2 singles and lots of room to spread out for my family of 4. We enjoyed being steps away from the Vatican and the street that the hotel was located on had a nice selection of restaurants and gelato shops. We stayed here on... More

Room was quite large compared to those of other hotels I've stayed at in Italy and other places in Europe. The breakfast, which is included, was very good. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful with directions and recommendations, and was incredibly polite. They also spoke English very well, which was quite helpful.

We arrived around 11 pm because of a delayed flight. We had pre-booked a private car with the hotel. I had to contact the hotel three different times changing our arrival time because we missed our first two connecting flights in London; the driver was waiting for us when we arrived at the airport even at the late hour. The... More

We really enjoyed our stay. Arriving around 10pm after a very long flight from Australia we were so pleased that we had pre booked a private transfer from the airport, 65 euro was well spent when the friendly driver greeted us arrivals and whisked us to the hotel in his Mercedes. Reception staff were always polite and helpful. We had... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
