I stayed at this hotel 13 years ago. I was happy with the hotel and loved the location directly at the top of the Spanish Steps, so I opted to stay again. The hotel is under new management, and the owner brothers are very friendly and accommodating. It is their hope that the hotel feels more like a home than... More

Our family of four stayed here for our final two nights in Rome, after a long tour of Italy. We wanted to close out our trip with a central location near the Spanish steps, that had a wonderful view. Other than a rather small quadruple room, we were very pleased with our stay. A lovely rooftop dining area for breakfast,... More

I stayed at this hotel with my family and was very happy with it. The staff could not have been more helpful. They recommended excellent restaurants every night that were good value and within walking distance. The breakfast each morning was very good and the coffee machine that was open all day was fantastic!! The rooms were charming and had... More

My family loved our stay at Hotel Scalinata de Spagna. We loved the location of the hotel--right at the top of the Spanish Steps. Our room was beautifully decorated, the bathroom well-equipped, and the front desk personnel were friendly, accommodating, and extremely helpful. There are several fine restaurants within a few steps of the hotel. The terrace on top of... More

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The location of the hotel at the top of the Spanish steps is superb being so central to shops, restaurants, piazzas and museums. We stayed in a family room that comprised 2 rooms a double and a triple. The rooms are not huge but a more than enough for 5. The... More

Wonderful little B and B at the top of the Spanish Steps, fabulous location! Walk down the steps and you are at the best shopping area Via condotti, restaurant, everything you might desire. The staff was friendly and warm, and we are returning this summer, wonderful breakfast and people to meet.

Stayed at this gorgeous boutique hotel for three nights recently. We booked the Panoramic suite; one of a few rooms in the newly renovated block of apartments next door to the main hotel. Large private outdoor terrace with breath taking view across Rome - unbelievable. Quiet and safe area, ultra convenient to walk to Spanish steps, Piazza Barberini, Via Veneto.... More

Our bed was very comfortable and roomy after a series of stays in other towns on twin beds. What a pleasure! I agree with another reviewer about the A/C being hard to control in the room. Seemed like it was either full on or completely off. Other than that, we had no complaints. Loved the breakfast room/terrace. Free wifi throughout.... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
