Have just checked out of this hotel feeling very pleased. The room was small (but we knew that when we booked), spotlessly clean and well furnished. Well placed at the top of the Spanish steps there is a taxi rank outside the front door that is very handy. The staff are very helpful and nothing is ever to much trouble.

The staff could not have been friendlier. Fantastic central location. Clean comfortable and exceptionally accommodating. The room was small but light airy and comfortable. I would recommend. The roof terrace was a real bonus, with help yourself free coffee and tea at anytime. The in room fridge has free soft drinks and water.

This was a great start to our trip in Italy! What a great location - easy to walk to places and convenient to the metro. The staff was very helpful. We arrived a couple of hours before official checkin and we were able to leave our bags there. We received great local restaurant recommendations. The rooms are a bit small,... More

Adorable small hotel with friendly atmosphere and excellent location. We were placed in the new part of the hotel, in a building next to the reception so the feeling was like we were at home. The room is small, the bed comfortable, the bathroom very small but everything is so nice and very clean. This is exactly how everything needs... More

We loved this hotel. Our room was small, but made up for it's size with it's elegant decoration and furnishings. Although it was on the ground floor at the front of the hotel, our windows overlooked the square at the bottom of the Spanish Steps - a real 'room with a view'. It was spotlessly clean, the bed comfortable and... More

We are long-time clients of the Scalinata, and harbored some concerns when the hotel changed ownership. This is to confirm that all is well. During our most recent visit, we had the pleasure of staying in the newly established panorama suite. It's located in the adjacent apartment building, and is thoroughly modern. While it lacks the historic charm of the... More

This hotel has a good location but thats about it. The room was tiny and dirty. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The hotel is dated and the A/C was barely operational. The bathroom was dirty and outdated. I traveled with my wife and 2 kids and we had 2 rooms. We were very cramped and uncomfortable. The location is... More

Dear Guest, reading your report I thought "May be he is not describing my hotel". Cleaness: 9 on Booking.com value - That's meams that the hotel is clean. Your room was the n. 10. A Junior Suite of 24 mq with 3 windows and a large bathroom. That for Paizza di Spagna is quite enough. The breakfast is all fresh.... More

I make TV Travel Show episodes.. Suitable location and a comfortable clean bed is all I want. I get all of this and more from this friendly hotel. Small, cozy, quiet and clean, owner sits at the reception desk.. What else do you want?

Right across from the venerable Hotel Hassler, this small hotel enjoys the same great location at the top of the Spanish Steps. Small, charming, friendly with a roof top terrace with spectacular views and a sidewalk cafe out front, this is one of the best choices in this price range in central Rome. I have stayed here many times and,... More

This is the perfect boutique hotel for anyone who wants a nice room, friendly staff and the perfect location. And in addition to that, they provide a very generous breakfast on a rooftop terrace! I will definitely return here the next time I'm in Rome!! :)

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
