It is very small hotel. The room is relatively in good size and the furniture are in antique and luxury style. The only thing that was not good was the shower, which the water keep changed from very hot to very cold in the middle . The breakfast is small but good for this type of hotels. The service is... Der Madam, Sir, I am very sorry or what happened but believe me, we never had such problems before and after your departure we started a complete screening of the hotel with an exterminator ( using only ecological systems by the way as 180 degrees dry steam and traps... ) we found in fact some bugs only in a couple... The hotel is located at the top of the Spanish Steps, and right next to them. It is easily reached by the "Spagna" metro station and then using the public elevator (or climb the steps for the experience) The building exterior is simple, but the interior and rooms are decorated in a way that makes you feel in a small... We stayed 3 nights in October in Room 10 on the first floor above reception, same floor as the gorgeous breakfast room, and with three windows overlooking the wide street below - and aside from a nuisance shower rose we loved our stay. Being our first time in Italy we were warned of very small rooms, etc but were so... More

Tucked away to the side at the top of the Spanish Steps, this beautifull little boutique hotel has a better location than it's big, famous, expensive neighbour The Hassler (Tom Cruise should be walking across the street !). Charming (smallish) rooms with gorgeous wall fabric and antique furnishings provide a quiet oasis from the busy center of Old Rome just... More

This was our first holiday in the Italian capital hotel we stayed at the Spanish Steps. Its location is perfect in the heart of the city, our suite was great for me and my family, the staff was very kind and Fabio has advised many of the best places to visit and excellent restaurants. Breakfast, beautifully served on a terrace... More

We stayed here with two other couples for two nights. The hotel staff was very accomodating and helpful. We stayed here five years ago and we were happy to come back again. The staff is very accomodating and the roof top breakfast is very nice. Watch out for the pidgeons. They will steal your food! The rooms are clean and... More

We experienced a combination of positive and negative aspects during our one-night stay at the Hotel Scalinata di Spagna. Positives - the room was quite large by European standards, and was clean and well-appointed. The front-desk staff was kind and helpful, if a bit too pushy when recommending a car service immediately upon our arrivel (which turned out to be... More

I have stayed at Scalinata for 2 nights and it was a delightful experience although a bit overpriced. The room was spacious and clean, tastefully decorated however the view from room 9 was a bit disappointing as it was looking to the back of the hotel. Breakfast was very good, service too however due to rainy showers i did not... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel scalinata and definitely recommend it to anyone. We were there for 3 nights, but we thought that the scalinata was good, clean, amazing location, great bedrooms, compact but nicely furnished bathrooms. But i think the best thing at the Scalinata was the hospitality, they were very friendly, helpful and made you feel most... More
