Although the location of this hotel is great, the hotel itself was a huge disappointment. The rooms were not clean with inches of accumulating dust along the floor edges and moldy, stained bathrooms. For what they charge, you would think they would invest money in renovations. Oh, and skip the breakfast...find a nice pasticceria for fresh rolls and pastries. more

If your criteria for selecting a hotel is location, then look no further. I had researched the hotel online and through travel guide publications, which described this as "Rome's most famous little boutique hotel" and gave it a three star rating. I will concede and give it one star for its location. The hotel was run down. Cleanliness was not... more

Since the location was so great, really nothing else mattered. The hotel is old but very charming. the staff is friendly, the breakfast is good and includes eggs. our room really did not have much of a view, but who sits in their hotel room in Rome to look at a view? Thank you Fabio and Diego for everything, we... more

Friends who had stayed here several years ago recommended it, so we were expecting a very different experience. The hotel is quite run-down. Several of the light fixtures in the room were broken (I had no working light by my bed) and when we told the front desk, they said they would attend to it but never did. The shower... more

My husband & I and friends stayed at Hotel Scalinata Di Spagna in July. It was the first stop on our Italy trip. We loved the location and hospitality from the minute we arrived at the hotel. We stayed 4 days , enjoying the delicious breakfasts and roof top location. We left the hotel to pick up our rental car... more

I've been meaning to write this review for some time. I've stayed in a few nice hotels in this area but this place is a real gem. It is the very opposite of a soulless chain hotel. It's extremely chic, tastefully decorated with just the right touch of glamour and style. My room was very clean (which is a basic... more

I read about this hotel in the Frommer's Guide on Italy. The Guide gave this hotel 3 stars out of 3. It raved about its newly renovated decor and location. Well, at least Frommer's got one thing right - the location is hard to beat. Right at the top of the famed Spanish Steps and a short walk away from... more

This little hotel on top of the spanish steps is perfect first of all because of its great location , being very close to the Villa Borghese park ( a park that offers great landscapes); also Piazza di Spagna and all its bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel offers great conditions , the rooms are large and fully equiped ;... more

Good hotel. Nice and helpfull staff. The room was quite big with a nice view on Piazza TRinità dei Monti. The room was quiet and very clean. I recommend it to everyone. P.S: they also have a wireless network, very fast and FREE. more
