Stayed here for a weekend of sightseeing, and was very pleased. The hotel is in a great location- highly central, but tucked away from the noise of Rome's traffic. I highly recommend the hotel's breakfast, as it is hard to find a solid morning meal in Europe sometimes. The staff is very sweet, and there is free internet use in... More

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to our son's apartment in Rome. We were thrilled to find ourselves so close to many major attractions, a hub for public transportation, shopping and great restaurants. We would definitely stay here again. The rooms were small, but clean. The staff helped us in every way, from finding a room for us... More

My husband and I stayed in the hotel for 5 nights during our vacation to Rome in the beginning of October. Location is amazing,,, walking distance to many of the major points of interest, such as Piazza Nevona, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Campo di Fiori, Piazza Venezia and Trastevere. Close to transportation and great restaurants. Good trattorria and bar are right... More

My wife had been here before and wanted to share Rome with me. She was a little embarrassed to take me to a "3 star" hotel that seemed cheap by comparison to other options. I couldn't have been happier. The Smeraldo is a perfect mix of a respectably modern hotel in a charming authentic Italian neighborhood. For better of for... More

Great place, wonderful staff, great location and they have two roof top patio areas that you can sit and have some wine. Only issue was that the air conditioning was not the most efficient. Good restaurant across the street and several within a short walk, ask the desk and they will assist. More

Smeraldo was fantastic. Great location to most of the sites in Rome. A main bus terminal within a block. The desk was very helpful with any of my questions, train schedules, etc. The rooms are small but clean and a nice brekfast. More

Our room (twin) was at the front, which meant it was too noisy to leave window open at night due to laneway traffic, but the A/C was adequate for the time of year. Room was smallish, but perfectly fine as we didn't spend any time there. The mattresses need renewing as both of us could feel the springs and I... More

We spent 6 nights this year and it was a dream vacation for us. The location was ideal- very close to Campo de Fiori (about a block) and a couple of blocks south of Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. About a 5min walk to the Capitoline Hill. Nice restaurant across the street and a Forno for dinner on our terrace.... More

Our stay at the Smeraldo was fantastic. Walter at the desk was helpful with any questions and a great conversationalist. Our room was very comfortable, air conditioned and there is an elevator which was great. The hotel is located within walking distance of many of the major points of interest, such as Campo di Fiori, Piazza Nevona, Pantheon and Trevi... More
