Location for this hotel is perfect, we walked to all the major sights and didn't need to bother with any public transport or taxis to get around. The hotel is clean and the staff, although not overly friendly, were professional and helpful. We had a refurbished room and the bathroom was particularly impressive. Would definitely stay here again if I... More

My first trip to Rome and I certainly hope not the last. If I did return I would check back into the Smeraldo in a heartbeat. The location is amazing! Walk to everything from The Piazza Navona to the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. The list goes on. So many restaurants and trattorias in the area you will... More

It's a couple blocks between largo di torre argentina(taxi/minimarket) and Campo de Fiore(dinner/people watching). Nice updates like keycard room entry and soundproof windows. Ask for cappuccino at breakfast. Would've liked 24 hour lobby coffee or a kettle in the room. All in all a well maintained hotel.

My daughter and I stayed in this hotel for three nights. We stayed in room 203 and it was small but that was not a problem for us as it had everything we needed. Very upto date decor and new bathroom. Shower was excellent. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean. Bedding and towels were crisp and fresh. The only... More

We've just come back from four nights in Rome, staying at Hotel Smeraldo. The hotel is in a great location - 5-10 minutes walk to Piazza Navona, and easily walkable to all other main sites in Rome. It's in a semi-pedestrianised backstreet so fairly quiet at night although a bit noisy at other times. Staff were very helpful. They organised... More

We had a disappointing stay at the Smeraldo - probably because we were assigned to room 306 which is incredibly small, has no space for luggage, has not been renovated and had one window that looked out at an air shaft. The accordion folding shower "curtain" was creepy. It appears there may be other larger, more recently renovated rooms. That... More

Friendly & courteous staff. Good complimentary breakfast. Rooms were small. Tight squeeze in bathroom for showering. No ice machine. Good location for shopping & sight seeing. Best feature is the cafe/bar directly across from hotel as well as the hidden gem of a restaurant next to the bar & the fabulous gelato you can get- best of our trip- at... More

We recently stayed here for one week. Loved the Campo neighborhood, off the main, larger streets of Rome. Our updated double was small, but well-organized. Lots of storage and cubby/shelf space. Excellent sound-proofing of windows. Would like to take the shower home!

Great service in the reception. Facilities clean and modern. Cute hotel, better quality that a 4 star hotel that I stayed on in Rome. Breakfast was ok, appropriate for this hotel, friendly staff in the restaurant.

Staying in Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori

Neighborhood Profile
Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighborhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.
