Terrible start in room #35 the AC was not working in July. It was merely blowing air. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, she told me with a puzzled face that she had not heard of this prior and that we would have to stick it out through the night and be moved the next... More

I stayed here for 3 nights with my college son in May 2014. I had booked one room with two separate beds at a very reasonable price, needless to say you could imagine how happy we were upon arrival to see that we had a room with two separate bedrooms. The room was spotless, and we even had a little... More

This hotel was a gem, located in an adorable side street off Piazza Spagna. The family that runs the hotel were very accommodating and so nice. They had excellent restaurant recommendations and booked us an early taxi to the airport. The room was spacious with excellent aircon and wifi. Breakfast was idyllic on the rooftop with an excellent spread. My... More

The hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of tourist blocks. Rooms are clean and modern. Staff is really nice and helpful. Free and fast wifi. Extra cheap laundry service! Breakfast is poor though. There are some dishes for extra charge. Metro station is in two blocks away. It is also possible to call taxi or uber. However, almost all... More

Rooms are Old time Luxorious and really peacefull. Service is friendly, and because our child we did get excellent room (two floors, own terrace, two good airconditioners). Breakfast was good. Middle of Rome, great location! Spagna Metro is near, but you can walk (even with children) to most of important "have to see" places. Just outside of hotel you can... More

Fantastic location! This hotel feels peacefully secluded despite its proximity to the Spanish Steps and Via Del Corso. Literally steps from the Spagna metro station. Boutiques, luxury shops, and restaurants abound. An easy walk to Piazza del Popolo, the Pantheon and the Monument to Victor Emmanuel. The rooms are nicely appointed and the bathrooms modern. The breakfast is similar to... More

This hotel is right near the spagna metro train stop, right by Spanish steps and heaps of resturants and loads of shops. Set on a eat street with minimal car traffic so great for walking around the area. Always something happening or some kind of street act going on. Warm welcome, and they take your luggage up for you which... More

Excellent location near Spanish steps, restaurants, and shopping (both high end and retail) Stayed here due to recommendation from "Rick Steves Italy 2015" travel book and hotel honored a discount mentioned in this book. Very clean but basic room. Shower extremely small. Wifi was great. Loved the breakfast upstairs and outside. Good variety of food. Stayed here for 2 nights... More

We rented a room here for one night on a delay in Rome. This hotel was adorable with its decor, winding staircases & beautiful rooftop. The rooftop was perfect with pretty views, colorful plants & good Italian breakfast. The room was large with a queen bed & twin. There was a window overlooking the street. There was a wardribe, tv... We would 100% stay at Hotel San Carlo again. It was in the most ideal position - right beside the Spanish steps, with a fantastic choice of restaurants surrounding it. The area felt very safe and we found the distance to the colosseum and Vatican City easily walkable. The hotel staff were welcoming, the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean,... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
