I couldn't stay more than 10 minutes in the first room I got (4 bed dorm). The floor was sticky, the smell was unpleasant and there was only one electrical outlet and one lamp for 4 people in the room! And also there wasn't a safe locker (although it's written at the reception that every room has one). So I... More

An easy walk from the Termini Station, maybe about 7 minutes with a suitcase. The hostel is actually spread out across the street. So I was on the opposite side of the road to the reception and the same side as the bar. I dumped my stuff to find they do not provide locks on the lockers, so if you... More

this is one of the best hostels I've stayed in. It's on a really cool street that has a great gelato shop next to it. it's also a really close walk to the metro or the train station. breakfast is AMAZING and only 3 euros! the beds are super comfortable, the bathrooms/rooms are really clean and the wifi works really... We arrived at the yellow last night after a long day of travelling and and we were excited to try and see a bit of Rome but this experience robbed us of any opportunity. We had booked the most expensive room available and it looked lovely on the website but once we paid and got inside the room was nothing... More

I don't often write reviews but I had to make an exception for the incredible Yellow Hotel. It was absolutely superb - the superior female dorm was the largest and best decorated that I've seen in all of Europe, the staff are so friendly and helpful, the bar is so much fun and there are so many activities and ways... Fantastic hostel: clean, well-equipped, and friendly atmosphere. The lounge and pub allow for socializing for those who want to, and the rooms are isolated enough for rest at the end of a day of walking. Word of warning: stairs are VERY slippery when wet. A grocery store nearby is useful for the low-budget travellers. Beware: the kitchen is poorly equipped... More

Nice big rooms and pretty good beds with good quality bedding, storage cages underneath the beds. Good bathroom and super hot shower, enormous towels which is a small win whilst travelling! Wifi was weak to non-existent in the room but fine in the common areas, however I didn't think much of the common room itself. The pub downstairs is run... More

The hotel yellow is next to the central station of Rome. If you speak English then you can chat with the other guest that our last stay everyone was from a country that has English as the main language. The personnel was honest because i left a present in the safety box and they saved for me to pick it... More

I'm not usually a fan of hostels, but this was quite pleasant. It is a party hostel, so noise it to be expected to a certain extent. But it was clean, staff were friendly and there is a bar downstairs which is easily accessible and not outrageously expensive. I'd recommend the dorms for singles in particular. We were a couple... At The Yellow we stayed in a private 3 person room which was very clean with private bathroom. There is a really great relaxed atmosphere with plenty of activities and a lively bar down stairs. This place is perfect if you want to walk the city by day as and enjoy a great night life right at your door

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
