I love this place and I've been staying here for years and years... and I've never written a review partly because I was happy to keep a bit quiet about it. But I've been back for a visit after a four year gap and while not much has changed in terms of the rooms and way the place is run,... more

We stayed a the Albergo del Sole for a week Aug. 8-14, 2009, and traveled with our 12 and 10 year old boys. We're veteran travelers and always opt for accomodations that are very nice with a terrific location. We don't require luxury but aesthetics are very important to us. If you are looking for a "service oriented" hotel and... more

We just got back from a one night's stay at the Albergo Del Sole. While Rome was very nice, I'm extremely thankful we were only there for one night. The location is great and the staff are friendly enough. The furniture in the room is extremely beat up and the top linen on the bed was ratty and old. The... more

This is what it is...The location is awesome in my opinion and i have traveled enough to know good and bad locations...About this place: It is really central to it all...If you like quaint and central to the culture of Rome, this is it. If you want luxury and plan to sit in your room and watch TV and have... more

I stayed at the Sole last summer (July 2008) as a member of the Rome Festival. The room was very comfortable, the location was great, and the hotel staff members were very friendly and helpful. The second floor garden was beautiful and the roof garden has an incredible view of Rome! I am looking forward to staying there again this... more

This hotel can't be beat for its location, and I found my stay quite comfortable, with no complaints whatsoever. I found the price reasonable for the location, and, in my opinion, it's a very acceptable pied-a-terre that allowed me to walk to just about anywhere...and I did. My room, number 401, had a double bed (comfortable), chair and wardrobe, a... more

This hotel is really well located -- which is I think its only plus. Within walking distance of a lot of things you want to see. We -- two adults, two children -- stayed three nights in a family room (210 euro per night, no breakfast). We were in a room at the front on the top floor and the... more

Everytime I've to stay in Rome for work, I book a room in this dreamful hotel. The position is marvelous: in the center of Rome, just few steps from Campo de' Fiori or Navona square. It's hard to find another hotel with the same prices in this area. My preferred rooms are on the top floor where it is the... more

I have never stayed in a worse hotel, or hostel for that matter. For the price of 150 Euros a night, here is what we got... 1. A room that was so small, the door hit the bed when we opened it. 2. A bathroom that was never cleaned, with a sink that was full of clogged, dirty water and... more

Expensive, unfriendly and definitely not customer orientated. Up a flight of stairs, rooms small and noisy and the hotel only accepts cash (which considering the high charges is ironic). No restaurant, no iron - the staff just did not seem to care. Location good but that is the only good point. We have not stayed in a worse hotel in... more
