We were visiting Rome in the height of tourist season, and as one will learn, Rome is very expensive. We found this hotel to be clean, the family who run it very friendly and helpful, and best of all the location was great. Very close to Campo de Fiori, it was an easy walk to many of the sites to... Albergo Sole is a very good hotel. The location was the best, right near Campo dei Fiori. The room was very spacious, and very nicely situated, adjacent to a courtyard. I dont remember if there was AC or even if breakfast is served but the service was good. And it was quiet. Not cheap but not excessively pricey.

Our family of 5 stayed here in July 2013. It was comfortable and safe. Nothing special, but perfectly in between the Colosseum and Vatican - which is what we were looking for. Our room was clean and had enough space. The price was reasonable. No breakfast, but again - good price. Parking available in the garage under the hotel -... More

Yet again I would like an intermediate rating of Good! The hotel is obviously family run, Mamma speaks no English (but why should she!?) but her sons etc. are very fluent and helpful. I had a single room which was very sparsely furnished with old fashioned odd bits and pieces and the bed and pillows were very solid, but the... More

Located near the wonderful Campo de Fiori Piazza, we enjoyed our 3 days/nights there wandering around Roman History. The rooms were nice enough we were a group of 4 and we each had our own bed. I thought they slept quite good (it could have been the grappa) We enjoyed the different little sitting rooms. The staff was very friendly... More

... that makes us - strangers from all over the world - love Rome. There are beautiful places to stay, but 2,500 years of tourism have led to a general price level that is at least in the travelling season (in Rome March-October) not affordable for those who travel with a limited budget. I booked the Albergo Sole because it... More

My wife and I stayed here so that we could be with my niece and her daughter before they left to go back to the states. They stayed at a hotel only a 2 minute walk from ours, but a world apart. Their hotel had all the amenities and was very modern, though the room was small. Albergo del Sole... More

When you visit Rome the thing that will turn your holiday from a good to an amazing one is the location of the hotel. This hotel has an incredible location for the reasonable price we paid. Main attractions eg the colosseum was roughly a pleasant 15 minute walk. With the advantage of the hotels location we visited it at night... More

A friend and I stayed in this property for 4 nights in early June. First off, the location you cannot beat. It is within walking distance of every major site, with 15-20 minutes being the maximum walking time to various sites. The Campo dei Fiori is a very lively area, although a bit touristy, but very nice. It is full... More

Efficient staff and kind. Lovely courtyard and location. Own carpark. Very clean. But rooms differ greatly from excellent to really awful (217 for ex.). The decor is rather quirky but in general quite functional. Good towels and mattresses. Relatively noisy as it is not at all carpeted. Hot water in bathroom works. Plenty of sitting lounges, tv room, extra toilets... More
