The entrance is odd in a plain building on the corner of Via Piave. There is a plaque on the wall in front that says the hotel's name. Press the button and they buzz you in. It is only one flight up to the hotel and there is an elevator but we didn't want to wait for it. Someone is... more

My boyfriend and I are a little astonished to read the reviews. I think all of the bad reviews are from people who are accustomed to staying at the Hilton, which this is not. What it is however is very small, quaint, beautiful, b&b with lots of character. We too were a little apprehensive upon arriving as the outside of... more

When we first arrived at the hotel my girlfriend told the taxi driver to keep on driving becuase from the outside it looked a bit grotty. However, once inside the Munster's front gate we walked up the stairs and the hotel, which only has a few rooms, was quite nice. You can't really see out the windows but the bathroom... more

This is not really a hotel - more like a B&B. The staff are helpful and did their best to accommodate our requests but we had chosen the place based on the description on venere.com saying that there was wi-fi in the rooms. There was no internet (not even dial-up) and this created a big problem for our work. They... more

Read the posts on this hotel before going so was quite aprehensive. First thing is that you can easily walk from the Termini without getting on the metro. Start as you mean to go on as you will be doing alot of walking! When we arrived we got the lift up to the first floor (the only time we actually... more

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in May 2004, and it was very disappointing. The entrance/reception area is awkward and as uninviting as the slow, dilapidated elevator. The various desk clerks were pre-occupied with their own phone calls and newspaper reading. The coffee & packaged toast breakfast was a joke. Overall, we felt "had", and this bad... more

Worst place to stay in Rome! Bad location, terrible service and is a trap for tourists that do not know better! It is located upstairs in an office type building with a concierge who isn't on the ball to ring you into the building. We stood outside for 30 minutes to get into the hotel. When we complained about the... more

Just back from Rome. Stayed at the Locanda del Fante for 3 nights and found it very pleasant. The hotel is very small and situated in a block of flats/businesses.Room was clean and nicely furnished, staff were polite and friendly, and location was good - only 10 minute walk to main bus/metro/train station. Breakfast was served ,at whatever time requested, in... more

I went to Rome for the weekend with my boyfriend. The week before we were due to arrive at hotel locanda del fante we tried to contact the hotel to confirm our booking which we did over the internet however we never got a response. When we did arrive at the hotel they said they had no room for us... more
