A great and inexpensive hotel in the heart of Rome. My mom, my sister and I stayed there for 5 nights in the end of June. A pleasant and perticulary service-minded staff made the stay perfect. The hotel itself is in the middle of everything. Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, Fontana de Trevi, Ara Pacis, The Villa Borghese Park and The... More

As someone who is used to expensive and impersonal hotels in major European cities, I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel San Silvestro. Its outstanding staff, Roberto, Marco, Andrea, and Cosimo, make you feel as if you were staying at a good friend’s home instead of at a hotel. For example, Roberto will make you your coffee of choice at breakfast... More

This tiny hotel is located near everything you want to see in Rome! It's a great value for money. As other reviews said, the rooms are small so if you are traveling with large overseas luggage be prepared to squeeze between the door and your suitcase. If you came to Rome to stay in your room.. well, rethink your trip!... More

Hotel staff was nice but one front desk guy was upset that I had taken the keys with me when I went out to dinner. Yes I'm taking the keys... You don't have in room safes and NO I don't trust you!!! The rooms were clean however the bathrooms were extremely small as were the showers. You had to walk... More

This is a good base for a short stay in Rome. Admittedly rooms are small but hotel is good value for money. To stay in large rooms in central old Rome, one has to book 4 or 5 star hotels at much higher prices.. . The location is excellent and the staff it's so helpful, ready to give information and... Perfect location especially for short stay - many famous locations reachable by foot or bus (its not so complicated to use them, just ask receptionist for advice). Single room is small, but for a 1-2 nights stay its enough. If you want to turn on/off air condition, you have to ask receptionist (very strange, but works fine - I called... More

Just off the Spanish Steps square, and practically within walking distance to most of the beautiful landmarks of the Centro Storico, the amazing location makes this hotel a perfect and natural choice for your stay in Rome. A typical small Roman hotel, clean fully equipped with all today's traveller needs, but what makes this hotel unique is the genuine interest... More

We wanted a centrally located hotel, so we could walk around in rome without using other transport facilities. Also, with a 9months old child, in our opinion, it's good to be quickly back in the hotel, if needed. But thanks to Roberto, our experience became much much much more than just "a good centrally located hotel". He was very sweet... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
