Ah! A Roman hotel that behaved like one. Small but comfortable with a great staff. Roberto never seemed to sleep as.he was always there to help you. Plenty of hot water. Breakfast was good. We will be back.

Just returned from our trip to Rome and stayed four nights in the San Silvestro. Location is great. Room was on first floor and was quite small but adequate. Bed was comfortable. Staff were very helpful nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast quite basic coffee was brewed fresh for each guest which was very nice. Overall happy with our stay... More

Stayed for a short break from 8th to 11th June and found hotel to be well situated for most of the local sights. Not far from Spanish steps,Trevi, Navonna, etc. The bedroom was a reasonable size and overlooked the fairly quiet Via del Gambero. Decoration was fine and the bed comfortable.Even had a small fridge in a corner of the... More

My friend and I stayed on the third floor of this hotel for four nights this week, and there was really nothing to complain about. I am terrified of lifts so refused to get in the small one that was available and so we certainly got a lot of great exercise on the trip. If you are afraid of small... More

This hotel must be in one of the best locations in Rome. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our bedroom was very small, had to move the bed over to open the drawer in the bottom of the wardrobe, but the bed was comfortable and the room was lovely and warm on cold March nights. The furniture all needs... More

You can't hope to find a friendlier, more helpful person than Marco who works at the front desk. The location is great, but that unfortunately is where it ends. The rooms are really shabby and the bathrooms even more so. Breakfast was very, very basic even by Italian standards. If you're looking for value-for-money, don't stay here. It was very... More

This hotel is situated in a great location, right in the center, with walking distance to attractions. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very small but it is good for the price.

We had prepaid two rooms for three nights at San Silvestro. Upon arrival we were told that only one room was available but for the second room we would have to go for one night to the Doge hotel. We were actually in a hurry as we had a prepaid tour to go to that afternoon, yet we had to... More

The hotel is very centrally located. An easy 2-20 minute walk to most of the sights, but there are others nearby that can claim the same thing. The day-clerk at the desk is very unhelpful and unfriendly. He seems inconvenienced by every simple request, including adjustment of our room's climate controls (which are handled 100% from front desk - you... More

Although this hotel is dated and a little warn around the edges, it is in a great location. Minutes walk to Spansih steps and the Trevi fountain, plus very close to the metro, you can't go wrong staying here. We were greeted by a lovely man at reception, who was really helpful in guiding us to the local attractions and... More
