The location was wonderful and the staff were so welcoming. We brought our 11 month old daughter with us and they were entirely accommodating. There was a small dining room for breakfast and we were somewhat anxious about our daughter bothering other guests. When we came in, the host pulled a tablecloth and set it up on the floor for... I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel San Silvestro. The location is wonderful. Located in the center of Rome. The Hotel is old, but extremely clean. The rooms are small, and the bathroom is small. I had no problem with the small rooms, as we were rarely in the room. The bed was comfortable. We were able to open our... More

This was my fourth time in Rome and my first time staying in Hotel San Silvestro, and it will definitely not be my last. The location is amazing - only a few minutes walk from the main sights (which include: Piazza di Spagna, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Vatican, and Colosseum), Via del Corso (for those who like to... Location is obviously great, 5min walk from Spanish Steps and Fontana di Trevi. The room was clean but very small, 10~11sqm could be still ok for one people (I was on my own), but would be difficult for two. The whole furniture could be updated, however the bed was comfortable, and quality of the sleep good. There was no safe;... More

This hotel really is in a great location for the main sights. We stayed in October and were within walking distance to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Patheon, Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popollo and the Vatican City and Castell S'Angelo were around 20-30 minutes away on foot. There are lots of restaurants, trattorias and bars nearby, plus a supermarket and... More

This hotel is located in a great location almost equidistant between the Vatican and Colosseum, and also close to the Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain. The triple rooms were really small, basically they were standard rooms with an extra bed. There's was pretty much no space to move in the room. The breakfast area was also very small as well,... My wife and I recently spent 6 nights in Rome and stayed at the San Silvestro Hotel. We found it to be very clean, quiet and comfortable. All the staff without exception were friendly, efficient and courteous at all times. The hotel is very central and really is within walking distance of some of the main attractions of Rome....Spanish Steps..Trevi... More

The staff is excellent at this hotel! Very warm, friendly, and funny. Especially Marco! We were three couples and all of us loved it. The rooms are basic, typical for an older Italian structure. The air conditioning is controlled by the downstairs desk, but don't hesitate to contact them if you need it warmer or cooler. The location is fantastic,... More

Let's go first with the hotel itself: smallish, two floors (plus entrance) with elevator, a little cafeteria-like space for breakfasts... quite standard. We had a 3-bed room in the first floor, we were already expecting exactly what we found: three beds, private bathroom, window, air conditioning (very important in the blazing Roman summer!)... although the beds and the shower might... Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
