Hotel Medici is what a 3* hotel should be like. Our four man room was surprisingly spacious and the importance of a good AC is not to be underestimated. The location is slightly out of comfortable walking distance from the train station but is accessible to most major attractions and the restaurants around the hotel are rather nice. The bathroom... What a wonderful greeting! We arrived late due to our flight and we're greeted by the lovely night manager who checked us in very quickly and then offered us food for our son, who is 2. He was lovely with him, called him the boss and was instantly my son's best friend! Always a plus from a parent perspective. The... More

Close to metro, easy to find your way around city, good base. Basic cheap accommodation. Not a bad word to say. Ideal. Staff all very friendly and helpful. View from our room out onto street was typically roman and weather was beautiful, even in February. I would 100% recommend.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very quiet. We stayed for a week, and really enjoyed the location, Pinsere is right next door (a wonderful little pizza place). There are a few very good restaurants within walking distance. Overall, it was a sweet little hotel!

This hotel is a good location to stay so that you can easily hope on metro to get to sites you desire to see. The internet was spotty in the evenings which hinder my work productivity, but I was able to complete my work. However! it just took me quite a bit longer to complete. We got a double and... More

A great place to stay that isn't right in the middle of the city, which can be nice to get a break from every once in a while. The Hotel Staff is efficient, though not always the nicest - but things could be worse. Our room was well equipped with a sizable bed and wardrobe, TV, fridge, and AC. The... More

This is a good place to stay for city break. The location is convenient, walking distance to many city attractions, great neighborhood with many restaurants around and Termini station in near by if you need bus or metro transfer to somewhere. We payed for a small room for two persons but we got double room which was big enough and... More

Stayed here with a school group during Easter break, my room was comfortable and clean. Only thing is you can hear people in hallway. Great location walking distance to lots of sights. Staff was helpful and courteous! Next door is pinsere pizzeria which hands down is the the best pizza in rome- good value - I would come back

With only one night to spend in Rome I wasn't expecting much from our accommodation. Having booked our 'small double' room for a great rate I wasn't going to get my hopes up. However, the Hotel Medici is the perfect hotel for a short stay in Rome. The room isn't massive but it's by mean small. A large bed, wardrobe,... More

She made my stay much more memorable! Rooms were compact but very nice and clean. Central location was great - walking distance to everything and great restaurants nearby. I thought the breakfast was great and was pleasantly surprised to have a safe in my room. Safe area even at night which was important because I was travelling alone. Thanks!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Medici is located within the Aurelian Walls, in a building that belonged to the Medici family and built in an historic area which was already important at the time of the Roman historian Sallust, who ordered the erection of a series of buildings with the largest and richest Roman garden (Horti Sallustiani), which can be still seen behind the hotel. Wandering between the past and the present, you can easily reach the Quirinal and visit its Stables, that holds important events and exhibitions of major artists, or have a cup of coffee in the fashionable Via Veneto, immortalized in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita (The Sweet Life), or take a break at Villa Borghese and enjoy the greenery and a striking view of Rome from the Terrace of the Pincio. Right from the start you can have a taste of History: at the beginning of the XX century, when the building was being renovated, a Greek statue of the fifth century (Download the Italian PDF) was found, and it is now located in the National Roman Museum and some Roman artifact are still visible within the structure. Housed in a historic building, completely renovated, Hotel Medici offers high quality services in a warm and comfortable environment. The owners have decades of experience in the tourism sector and their experience allows us to offer appropriate solutions for all your needs. Located in the centre of Rome, and it is well-served by transport links providing access to the main points of interest of the city and the Termini Station, which can also be reached on foot. The facility is located in an area with plenty of bars, restaurants, pizzerias and shops bustling during the daytime but very calm and peaceful at night. ... more   less
