If we had stayed here for just a day or two I probably would have given it more stars. Here's the positives: This is one of the few hotels I was able to find at a decent price that fit four people in one room. So for that reason I was grateful. The hotel itself for the price was very... More

It was very good experience, maybe the best of our Rome visits. First of all - great qiuet location, practically walking distance of almost everything you want to see. The staff is very friendly, standard but good quality breakfast, very clean rooms, 3 stars but with the quality of service approaching to 4... Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Medici in Rome in 2009 after renewing our wedding vows so sort of a second honeymoon trip. Then again last year. The hotel was in a great location for us, clean and very friendly staff. We stayed for 4 days while we did a couple of day trips and explored Rome. I... More

Although the room wasn't the newest it was nice and well cleaned. Nice breakfast, friendly reception service, free WiFi. Central location, which was highly important to us- many things is walking distance as well as bus and metro stations near by. Don't miss the pizza place next door ('Pinsere Pizza') and 'La Romana' gelateria around the corner, both are AMAZING!... More

A good experience overall. The staff was friendly enough and the rooms were a decent size, which included all the amenities we needed. The hotel itself perhaps needed a little face lift but it was clean and quaint. We didn't get a chance to spend time in the patio area, but from the looks of it, it seemed charming. The... More

Keeping the review short. There is nothing that you won't like about this hotel. A proper 3* property. The appearance itself gives you a feeling of entering a good hotel. The rooms were very good... Extremely clean... Had a very good night sleep. Breakfast was also filling. We were welcomed very well at the Reception and provided with all the... More

Hotel Medici is what a 3* hotel should be like. Our four man room was surprisingly spacious and the importance of a good AC is not to be underestimated. The location is slightly out of comfortable walking distance from the train station but is accessible to most major attractions and the restaurants around the hotel are rather nice. The bathroom... What a wonderful greeting! We arrived late due to our flight and we're greeted by the lovely night manager who checked us in very quickly and then offered us food for our son, who is 2. He was lovely with him, called him the boss and was instantly my son's best friend! Always a plus from a parent perspective. The... More

Close to metro, easy to find your way around city, good base. Basic cheap accommodation. Not a bad word to say. Ideal. Staff all very friendly and helpful. View from our room out onto street was typically roman and weather was beautiful, even in February. I would 100% recommend.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very quiet. We stayed for a week, and really enjoyed the location, Pinsere is right next door (a wonderful little pizza place). There are a few very good restaurants within walking distance. Overall, it was a sweet little hotel!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Medici is located within the Aurelian Walls, in a building that belonged to the Medici family and built in an historic area which was already important at the time of the Roman historian Sallust, who ordered the erection of a series of buildings with the largest and richest Roman garden (Horti Sallustiani), which can be still seen behind the hotel. Wandering between the past and the present, you can easily reach the Quirinal and visit its Stables, that holds important events and exhibitions of major artists, or have a cup of coffee in the fashionable Via Veneto, immortalized in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita (The Sweet Life), or take a break at Villa Borghese and enjoy the greenery and a striking view of Rome from the Terrace of the Pincio. Right from the start you can have a taste of History: at the beginning of the XX century, when the building was being renovated, a Greek statue of the fifth century (Download the Italian PDF) was found, and it is now located in the National Roman Museum and some Roman artifact are still visible within the structure. Housed in a historic building, completely renovated, Hotel Medici offers high quality services in a warm and comfortable environment. The owners have decades of experience in the tourism sector and their experience allows us to offer appropriate solutions for all your needs. Located in the centre of Rome, and it is well-served by transport links providing access to the main points of interest of the city and the Termini Station, which can also be reached on foot. The facility is located in an area with plenty of bars, restaurants, pizzerias and shops bustling during the daytime but very calm and peaceful at night. ... more   less
