We stayed here last night and were very impressed with the value for money. We booked a large double so as to have space for our son's portacot. I think other reviewers complaining about room size is a bit unfair as the website clearly lists large or small double. This hotel is very good value for money, the staff we... More

A reliable place where rooms are neat and clean, cosy indoor terrace, wonderful restaurant just opposite; well-situated, easy access to metro and quick walk to central Rome in a nice, calm area. Staff are a bit stiff, but very helpful, very reasonable price. Breakfast is not great but nice bars just round the corner to taste delicious bakery and coffee.... More

This is an average hotel, good location, poor breakfast, simple clean adequate rooms with erratic wifi and a small bathroom but falls down totally when it comes to the matter of management. We booked for 3 nights, planned to go to Naples for 2 nights and return to the Medici for another 5 nights. Due to the major fire at... More

I left the hotel today in the morning and I have to say I am a bit disappointed with it. The building is really old fashioned, rooms are small and toilettes are smelly. The staff is really kind and helpful. Prices are definitely too high for what they offer. I am not going back there .

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We took a train from the station which was next to the airport and took about 30 minutes to arrive at termini station. This cost 14 euros each and from train station was about 10 minutes walk to the hotel. The room was basic but has air con and... More

Our first visit to Rome. The Medici Hotel was ideally situated. The Hotel itself was pleasant and clean with a wonderful garden area. All the staff were courteous, very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent. The City, the Metro, the buses and train station all within easy reach. I would... More

For the price, this is a great hotel and provides everything you need for a break in Rome. Only 10 minutes walk from the main Termini and around 20 minutes walk from the main historic centre. We even walked to the Vatican in around 45 minutes! The hotel is located is a quiet and very safe area. Busy during the... More

Stayed in a lovely room during the height of summer at Hotel Medici, and can't fault the stay at all! We stayed on the fourth floor, and it was very peaceful, even though we overlooked the courtyard. The breakfast was decent (coffee was lovely), always busy but that's to be expected. Bed was comfortable, although was two singles pushed together... More

This hotel is in a safe area which was also very quiet which was much appreciated after a full day of walking around and all you want is a good nights sleep. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. We would have appreciated in room tea and coffee making facilities. Our room had only a shower cubicle but... More

I actually liked the room at this hotel, the bed wasn’t great, pillows a little hard and crack in the mattress was annoying if your a swimmer while you sleep. But the rest of the room was perfect, the location was great, i liked the courtyard, and the restaurant right across the street served a good meal. All in all... More

Dear JamesW, Thank you very much for your review. It is good to read that you appreciated the central location of Hotel, the courtyard and services in the area. However we'll keep in mind your suggestions about the mattress. I look forward to seeing you again in the near future. Kind regards. More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
