The hotel is located near shopping streets and not far from the historical center. It is grand in the old style -- marble staircase, old-style furniture and management. We had a triple room -- ok for a family of two with a 7 year old. Everything is a bit dated. No tea or iron in the room. Relatively large storage... More

This is an amazing architectured hotel, probably mid 19th century that highlights the glorious italian craftsmanship. our room was large and had a great terrace. It is in the heart of room the best place you can have a hotel. The staff, seems to work very hard to make you comfortable despite odds! My view is that the current owner... More

I stayed at the hotel three times already and will always come back when in rome ! The hotel is beautiful, very traditional, its like a travel in time ! Its grand salons and staircases are divine. The staff is very helpful and friendly at all times, and the hotel is extremely well located. I had dinner at the bar,... More

We stayed for four nights as a very special birthday present to me. Other than the faded grandeur of the rooms (carpet tripping us up, plug plates coming off in our hands, etc) the public rooms were very much what they appeared to be on the publicity photos. We put the smell in the lift (only one of two seemed... More

In spite of the wonderful historic lobby and building in general this is not a 5 star establishment by any standards. The whole place needs urgent refurbishing. Rooms are good size but very worn. Hard pillows. Old heating system. No mini bar, not one international tv channel. Poor wifi signal. Bad bad signage throughout. The rooftop bar advertised on a... More

An amazing location that helped me make a most of my trip.Everything was in a walking distance. I had some concerns after reading reviews but everything turned perfect. The staff was very pleasant and professional. The hotel has a lot of charm and caracter however it can use some updates.

Very good central location, friendly and pleasant staff. The room was a good size and quiet but a bit 'faded glory' , although we liked the big deep bath the bathroom had seen better days and the shower was not very efficient. We had breakfast on one morning but thought it was over priced at 20 euros each, better value... More

Magnificent hotel, rich in tradition, history and art. We greatly greatly enjoyed our stay and the very discrete service. The suite with it's richly decorated ceiling and art around within moments eases you into pure relaxation and calm. And that despite its most central location which is conveniently close to all major historic sites including the Vatican and ultimately makes... More

Hi, We just returned to Athens, from a 3-day trip to Rome. We were looking for a short escape from the realities of dealing with 3 young children, in a centrally-located place, in a hotel where nothing could go wrong. Indeed, that is what we got ! We aimed for a superior room with bathtub. I am reading other reviews... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
