Needs a lot of work to become a 5 star hotel!!!!!! Very good location for tourism and shopping, very good service and an impressive old building, but that is not enough. Everything need restoration. Bathrooms, furniture, beds, bedsheets, everything. Of course the price is relatively low.

My family and I visited Rome for five days and I was concerned about the hotel given the price we paid for a five star hotel. What the hotel did provide was outstanding value and a most convenient location. Facilities are not what you expect from a modern five star hotel, but this hotel is full of charm, grace and... More

Dear kind guest, Thanks so much for posting your comment. We're very pleased that you appreciated the charm, grace and history of our hotel and the courtesy of our staff. In all the bathrooms, where possible, we are installing larger shower enclosures that will be bigger than the international average. Cordially More

I can't say enough about the concierge Fabrizio who would go out of his way to help us with anything. Nader at the from desk was also super helpful. Super courteous staff. We had a 640 square feet suite but our shower was probably 3x3 feet and couldn't even move around in it. Breakfast was not at the level of... More

My wife and I were a little nervous when reading some of the reviews on Tripadvisor. But we only have good things to say about our experience[ we stayed for 4 nights with breakfast ]. The hotel is totally beautiful and very historic, yes the room was not perfectly decorated like some of the rooms we have had in other... More

We were a bit nervous about our hotel because of some negative comments on trip advisor. We were pleasantly surprised at our room and the hotel . The staff was extremely pleasant and hotel clean!!! The room was on the street , 3rd floor and a bit loud outside but only if you were going to bed early! The location is... More

This was the second hotel we stayed at in Rome and we really liked it. Our room was huge, clean and comfortable. The main attraction of this hotel is the lobby and the bar. There is marble everywhere and the ceilings are painted and gilded. It's quite lovely. The hotel is located near the Spanish steps and is within walking... More

This 5-star hotel is in every way a 2-3 star hotel when it comes to almost everything....just one example, the food is horrible and the breakfast is a joke! The water for the tea was not even luke warm (each morning!), you could put your finger under the tap! The lift and hallways were amrked by a sewage odeur! But... More

We had our expectations correct based on reviews and pictures. Location is excellent for those who like to walk around, drink coffee near Spanish plaza and enjoy rush and shopping. Hotel is old, but when you are entering in the lobby you feel that you are in palace, and this is something that we liked. Ask for quite room, and... More

We booked through Hotwire for $168 per night, which was well below what a hotel of this class near the Spanish Steps should go for. Our first room, which overlooked the side street, was noisy with early morning deliveries, so they moved us to another, much quieter room. The large marble bathrooms and bedroom parquet floors are a nice luxury.... More

The hotel is located near shopping streets and not far from the historical center. It is grand in the old style -- marble staircase, old-style furniture and management. We had a triple room -- ok for a family of two with a 7 year old. Everything is a bit dated. No tea or iron in the room. Relatively large storage... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
