3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW via mobile

It was a well located accomodation, 5 mins of Termini station and 15 of the coloseum. Rooms were clean and prices were ok considering you are going to Roma. I thought breakfest (8euros) was way to expensive so we went at a nearby bakery. For the wifi you can use the one at the 5th floor for free (go at... More

Just landed back from my trip in Rome... And I felt I had to put a review as soon as I could! I was very very nervous about the hotel as it was such an amazing price for how close it was to metro etc just seemed to good. When we arrived the staff were more than friendly... Gave us... More

On the positive side, the sheets were really clean and the beds comfy. However, our 4-bed room was in some sort of annex and we had to share ONE bathroom with a few other rooms. This made us late a few times as we had to wait for other people (who also managed to flood the bathroom and leave it... More

Everything was perfect, the rooms have impression of a 4 star hotel, the staff is very friendly. If I had some suggestion would be: Internet should be free, cleaning in the bathrooms should be more often but nothing critical.

Clean, and in a safe area, and very close to the metro. The the front desk was very helpful, and all spoke English well. The wifi was pretty bad, don't expect to watch anything really. Very slow. The restaurant right across heats up their food, the one on the right are gross perverts, and the one across the street and... More

I have worked as Servicemanager and know what good guest service is! Hotel Des Artistes is spot on! Several of the staff helped us in a way that made us want to come back. Do not let the rather small Front Office area fool you. Room standard is great. Breakfast also. Location is calm and central. This is a very... More

Good location near Termini Train Station which is a great location from which to explore Rome. The hotel is a 10 minute walk away from the station. Rooms are reasonably well appointed but the air conditioning does not work particularly well and the rooms are quite warm. In Rome this can be a problem. There are numerous restaurants/bars in the... My initial booking was for a 6 bed dorm room at des artistes. On arrival, I was moved to another hotel 2 minutes walk around the corner called hotel Katty. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was a 4 bed dorm next to 3 other rooms. It was small but clean and had a TV and wardrobe. Inside... More

Not a really helpful staff regards exceptional situations (I had to pay a room for 3 that I booked even if my friends have their flight cancelled because of the fire in the airport of Rome), they didn't even try to understand the situation! Plus the price of the private 3 beds room with shared bathroom was really expensive compare... More

Where do you start? Not enough bathrooms, very smelly, have to pay for wifi in rooms, free wifi in common areas never worked, one lift which you have to wait ages for, squeaky bed, dorm room door didn't close properly, horrible showers. Would never stay again.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
