The hotel is very well located, 2 min walk from Termini station and close to main tourist attractions. Rooms are tastefully decorated. The absolute standout for us were the staff - from breakfast waitress to the receptionists and management - everyone was absolutely fantastic! So knowledgeable, speaking great English, faultless service and so professional! I would definitely recommend it !... More

We visited Rome as 5 couples aged around 50, everybody returning at a different date. We all believe we had a great stay at Hotel Columbia. The reservations team and the reception were both very efficient and very warm. The rooms were quite comfortable. The breakfast room was a cozy, homelike space with a nice terrace and the coffe and... More

If we come back to Roma, we'll come back to Hotel Columbia. The staff is very nice, helpful and available. We realy thanks them. The room was very clean and cosy, the breakfast perfect. Excellent location, close to the station termini, only 10-15 min walk to the Colosseum and 5 min from the Metro Republica. There is a bagage room... More

We stayed here for four nights in mid September. The reception desk is staffed by lovely, helpful people. Check in and check out were smooth. The room was smallish but the closet had room for storing our suitcase. There was also a safe in the closet. The bed was comfy enough and the pillow menu is definitely a nice perk.... More

Nice little restaurant bar at the top of the hotel with roof top access. Staff was very nice and helpful. A nice experience in a small hotel. Breakfast is provided and is a typical european affair and is very good. The room terrace is a great place to have a glass of wine and plan the next days activities. The... More

Really enjoyed our stay in Rome at the Hotel Columbia. The staff are excellent and the rooms very clean with a comfy large bed. Fridge in the room very handy for keeping your water cool. Breakfast more than adequate with plenty of choice. Great location as well with only 5 minutes from Termini, 10-15 minutes walk to the Colosseum- in... More

This hotel has exeptional high rates for the use of WiFi in the rooms. At the time we booked the hotel, a small sentence told us we had to pay extra for the use of WiFi. We didn't expect to pay more than 10 euro for a week, as we sometimes do in other hotels. To our (unpleasant) surprise there... More

Dear Ms Brigitte, Thank you for your nice comments in regards to the breakfast, service and room. However I am sincerely sorry that you were disappointed with our Wi-Fi charges. As you mentioned most of our rates include complimentary Wi-Fi, though there are still some contracted packages which don’t comprise of this service. After your valued comment, to ensure a... More

Just returned from a wonderful holiday in Rome where we stayed at the Hotel Columbia which is in a good location for visiting all the amazing sites. All the staff are very friendly and happy, thanks to Verena for brightening every day and also to Anke, Eleonora and Aurora.

We stayed only one night, but it was exceptional! The service was expeditious and very attentive. And their english os superb. The lady at the the front desk even humored me as I attempted to butcher the italian language. I don't recall the tall young man that checked us in, but he was very polite and helpful. The rooms are... More

We were in Rome just for the one night, the last night of our 3 week holiday. We arrived by train to Roma Termini and walked with bags to the hotel in less than ten minutes. It was very easy to find and an easy walk for anyone. We were greeted by a lovely lady speaking perfect English and given a... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
