The entire experience from start to finish was great...although I am late writing this review, it is certainly NOT because I didn't enjoy my stay. From the moment I made my reservation the staff was in constant contact with me. Everyone was so personable/friendly and helpful and there was such great communication throughout and they made my stay one of... More

From the moment of arrival, we were made to feel very welcome. The room was very spacious and clean. Lots of space for our luggage and shopping. The bathroom was reasonably sized and the shower had constant pressure and hot water. The Staff were very helpful and we enjoyed our stay there. I would definitely stay here again, the next... More

My 12 college age American students and I spend 3 weeks in Rome every January. We have used several different hotels over the years, but this January we were guests at the Hotel Columbia. What makes this hotel special, ideal, and suitable for all kinds of guests and even more so for foreign undergraduate students is the kindness, care, warmth,... More

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The rooms are very clean. The hotel is perfect for groups. Breakfast has plenty of options. The bathrooms are decently sized. I will definitely come here again and recommend to all of my friends.

I studied Italian in Rome for three weeks with my college Italian class. Our professor booked Hotel Columbia, since she had issues with her previous hotel. She made a great choice! Hotel Columbia was the perfect place for 12 students to stay. The rooms were a little small, but we're used to dorm rooms and worked with it. The facilities... More

The staff at Hotel Columbia are really amazing. Extremely friendly and very helpful if you have any questions or requests. The hotel is situated in a very central location. Very easy walking distances to train stations and bus stops. Many restaurants are also located close by. Our rooms were fairly decent and we were mostly satisfied. Our room was slightly... More

This was our 6th trip to Roma and our fifth stay at this charming family run hotel and will not be our last! We were upgraded to a superior room with its own balcony which was lovely especially as it was unusually mild for the time of year. All of the staff were wonderful as always and the location of... It doesn't look much from the outside but it certainly is a great place to stay. The hotel staff are always very helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming - which is rare to find in a city that attracts millions of visitors. The location is excellent - you can easily walk to major sights, catch public transport and many excellent restaurants in... More

This Hotel is in a great location to see the sights of Rome on foot. Close to many of the main sights - the Coliseum, Palentine Hill, the Forum, Spanish Steps etc... Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
