We had chosen this hotel mainly for its location near the city centre. The biggest attractions are all just a short walk away or - if you don't like walking - you can take the subway, which is only a couple of hundreds meters away, but the street itself is not too noisy at night. The room, especially the bed,... More

Plus: very friendly and helpful staff, clean, good airco which is very welcome in the summer heat. Location is ok, close to train and metro. However, if you want to have some eateries and bars not too far away, the Trastevere area is probably a better choice. Wifi works well. Min: The bed was quite uncomfortable. Breakfast was pretty much... More

Stayed for 5 nights in July 15. Having visited Rome before we wanted somewhere convenient for the Airport Shuttle bus drop off (Termini rail station) and all the attractions and Hotel Caravaggio was perfect. It is a four storey small hotel situated in a side street with a 24 hr reception. Room was accessed by a quaint old lift or... More

Located within a 10 minute walk of Roma Termini train station, this hotel has a warm and welcoming staff (that is very helpful and speaks wonderful English). As a solo traveler, I stayed in a single room that was very small, but had everything you need in a room. The hotel is located within a 10 minute walk of the... More

Staff were lovely, room was very clean and everything worked. Only gripe would be that the bed was a little uncomfortable. Air con was brilliant and breakfast was good. The happy hour was a nice extra touch to make our stay even nicer. Close to the major attractions and train station. Would recommend.

The Caravaggio is fine little hotel not far from Via Cavour. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The staff are great and their happy hour is a great opportunity to meet other travellers. The Otis elevator must be one of the oldest still in use but still works beautifully. Did I mention the staff? I can't say enough... More

Hotel staff are amazing, always willing to help not just us but seeing them interact with other guests. Hotel itself is 3* and has all basic facilities you will need when running around in Rome - air conditioning - beds - shower - free breakfast Don't expect anything flash but it's just what we needed. The corridors are quite strange... More

I really enjoyed our four night stay here. The hotel was good value. Yes not 5*, but we didn't pay 5* prices, so we were very happy with the room and service we received. Really good location. I hate walking, but we walked to all the major sights as they were not far away. If you take your time it... More

We knew when we were booking a hotel for Rome that we were going to struggle to find a decent hotel for a good price and a central location, so we kind of lowered our expectations for this part of our trip. But we needn’t have done. The Hotel Caravaggio was perfect. Yes, it’s not a five star luxury hotel,... More

We found the hotel to be well placed as we prefer to explore places by walking where possible. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our included breakfast was adequate. The room was small but given we were out and about most of the time did the job. We had a few minor electrical issues, which the staff followed up every... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
