It was our first trip to Rome (myself & my sister) we checked into Hotel Torino and we were very pleased. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful, great service. It's an immaculate looking hotel and the rooms are clean and very spacious. The hotel is only 2mins walk from all main amenities (termini station & tour buses)... More

Loved the location, within walking to the train/metro, good food options, friendly staff, clean room, and a jaw dropping view! Breakfast was delicious is on the roof top was wonderful, mind the birds though! They like to clean the tables. The roof top is open until fairly late and makes for a nice place to sit and enjoy a glass... More

We stayed at Hotel Torino for 2 nights on our arrival in Rome. The staff were as helpful as they needed to be, albeit a little abrupt. We were able to store our bikes in their luggage room for our stay which was great. The room was basic and the shower managed to flood the bathroom everytime it was switched... More

Dear LynnTott, thanks for your kind review. We apologize for the breakfast issue, it is continental but not an English breakfast you are probably used to. We have ham, cheese, eggs, bread, croissants, cakes, cereals, milk, fresh fruit, jam, honey, nut cream, tea, coffee, juices, etc, it is usually enough. Also, for Italians and the majority of the guests weather... More

We needed a hotel close to the train station (Roma Termini railway station) and this hotel was perfect (about 5 minute walk with luggage). Pros: close to train, good price, friendly staff, clean, right in the middle of all the restaurants /shops, heat worked well in room (important in December!), & felt safe!!! I stayed here with my husband, and... More

This was our first time in Rome, and we actually booked this hotel at laterooms.com for the fairly low price of E48 a night. This did not include the E6 per person per night city tax of course, which they ask you to pay when you check out. We had some train troubles in central Italy and decided to head... More

This hotel is not as bad as the reviews say so firstly if like me you booked on the last minute secret hotel site - try not to worry about the poor reviews because it is actually fine for explorers who spend little time at the hotel anyway ! Firstly, the location amazing. It is 10seconds from Termini the main... More

Overall it was clean and a comfortable sleep. If you are looking for more of a luxury stay this isn't the hotel for you. I stayed with my boyfriend for two nights last week. We had a room on the first floor which looked on to an internal courtyard. The hotel is 7 floors so there was absolutely no natural... More

Just stayed at this hotel OCT 2014 it was a decent hotel, the breakfast was a bit limited, but the view over rome covered that, the room has a traditional ancient feel to it, the location is good with walking distance to most buildings and specially roma termini

We booked into this hotel without knowing through Top Secret hotels and were really worried by the reviews. We expected the worst, but as it turns out it wasn't that bad. Some of the bits we read about we're true, the shower and bath were a bit tatty but functional, there were bits of the floor that we're coming up,... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
