This hotel has a great location very close to the main Termini station and it is a short walk to the Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps. The rooms were HUGE for a European hotel - we were very impressed. The complimentary drinks and snacks in the mini-bar were a very nice touch too. Air conditioning coped very... More

Just returned from a stay at this hotel and it was a lovely hotel and the breakfast was good. It was, of course, very hot (which we expected) and the air con only worked up to 30oC !!! Seeing as it was 38oC+ it was extremely warm in our room and as soon as you had showered you needed to... More

Big rooms for a European hotel. Easy walk to sites and resturants. Staff very nice. Rooms clean. Rooftop resturant had tasty food and it was a very relaxing way to end your day with a nightcap overlooking Rome.

In Rome hotels are hit or miss. This hotel was located conveniently near Roma Termini (5 min walk), AC worked well and it was clean. My room was small but I didn't need much as a solo traveler. It was equipped with a fridge. It was fairly inexpensive under $100 per night. Free breakfast was phenomenal (eggs, bacon, cheeses, cold... More

A pleasant three night stay with two of our teenage children. We had a family room with adjoining bedroom room on the first floor, both with en suite. Rooms were on the smaller side but no different to that expected of an English Travelodge - we didn't visit Rome to sit in our rooms all day! The cleaner called in... More

The hotel was mediocre. The lobby was nice, and some of the staff was helpful and nice but a few weren't as well. It's located two blocks from the train station, which created more commotion for us during our stay. Our room was never cool enough to sleep, we typical sweat throughout the night even without sheets and blankets, and... More

The location is great less than mile to the Colosseum. Shopping is close by. The sculpture museum in the Palazzo Massimo is around the corner. The two rooms that we booked were actually large by European standards. The bathrooms were large with a sit down bench in each shower. It was 95+°F when we stayed and one of the room's... More

Only five minutes walk from Roma Termini central train station means you can be at the hotel 35 minutes after walking out of the arrivals hall at the airport. The female staff seemed a lot friendlier than the male staff on the alternate shift but all were helpful. Nice big rooms and an enormous bed made for a good nights... More

Stayed here for 3 nights. This hotel was recommended to us by a friend. Very good location, about 5 minutes walk to Rome Termini and the Metro. Convenient because the Hop On Hop off bus to tour the city starts at Rome Termini. You can easily get to the historical sites and attractions in Rome. Restaurants are also all over... More

We have stayed at the Hotel Diana on three occasions - twice with a group of 30 teenagers from Australia. The location was excellent, the buffet breakfast was great and the rooftop terrace was an added bonus to take in the sights of Rome. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Some nice restaurants nearby and only a walk to Centrale... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
