Really enjoyed our stay here. The roof terrace is a delight, staff friendly and welcoming. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the breakfast , taken on the roof if you wish, was plentiful, fresh and delicious. Our room was very small, but was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Shower was excellent. A word of warning though if... More

we had 3 rooms for 5 nights and we had a great stay. The staff - very friendly and helpful. The breakfast - rich and tasty. The rooms - clean & convenient. The location - close to the metro, the downside is that the nearby restaurants seem to be the regular tourist traps, so we had dinner south of the... More

The check-in was flawless the staff very nice the hotel and room was clean but the bathroom in 407 is terrible. Not sure if it's one of Those rooms you get when booked by a travel service or it was just luck of th draw. It was almost impossible to set on the toilet it was so close to the... More

A nice, full-service hotel. Attractive main floor areas, nice dining room, very good breakfast, good front desk staff. My room was a single room, but more than adequate, clean and comfortable. Easy walk to Termini. Stayed there with a Road Scholar group, so I don't know what they paid for my room. Whether the hotel is convenient (meaning walking distance)... More

If your going to visit Pompeii for a night or two, this is your hotel. The AC works, the beds are comfortable and it's right next the Trenetalia commuter train station. There are good restaurants and the hotel is near the rear entrance to the Pomepii ruins. The breakfast was also very good. As I checked out, I accidentally left... More

Average, slightly tired Hotel in great location almost adjacent to main railway station (Termini). Dark rooms, slightly dated but made up for by superb roof terrace restaurant where we dined and breakfasted. Booked in by airline after flight cancellation but would return. Very claustrophobic, slow lifts.

At first glance hotel presents well and about a 20 min walk to the attractions. Delve deeper to discover hard uncomfortable bed, no kettle, no iron on request (pay for iron service) and noisy from 5am from street. In particular the bartender in the Roof Garden, the hotel pride and point of difference, was arrogant and rude!!! In fact as... More

It was our first visit to Rome and we stayed at this hotel with our tour group. It was in a great location to all we wanted to see and do and most of it was in walking distance, which gave us a good reason to walk the streets of Rome and see the sights! The rooms were clean and... More

Hotel was clean, staff helpful. Breakfast was good and our last day we had an early departure, staff offered to send us off with bagged breakfast, which was very nice. We have a family suite, two rooms - two bathrooms perfect for our family of 4. Very good deal for size of room. Downside: The A/C was not yet on... More

The hotel is in a fairly central location, easy for lots of nice restaurants and the main Termini and metro stations. We went early April where it was 20 plus degrees in the day but much cooler at night. The hotel room, however, was constantly really hot. This meant we had to keep the window open all night and the... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
