Good room for one night, the guy at the reception was called Willy, he was helpful and recommended good restaurants, as was Layla who was also very helpful in letting me use the wifi for buisness use in the lobby as it was a lot stronger than in my first floor room.

Close to Vittorio Emanuele square and close to the subway A and Rome main train station (Termini) the hotel is perfect for a work journey in Rome or if you don't need space in your room! The only bad aspect indeed is the space in the room: no more then 6-7 square meters for a single room. Also the bathroom... More

Lovely little hotel for a couple travelling on a budget. Pleasant, warm and welcoming they were very kind staff happy to give you tips on where to go and the best ways to get around. Being a little out on the edge from the city centre it is walkable (20 mins) but you will probably get taxis - 5-6 euros... More

Rust in the bathroom, broken toilet sheet and dirty blanket... I forgot some clothes there, emailed themfor the issue, they never answered. It is a nice little place in an awful neighbourhood, though it doesn't have an elevator, and the breakfast was good but it needs a lot of care to become a nice place to stay and recommend to... Hotel is located 10 mins away from Manzoni Metro and less than 5 mins from bus/tram stop towards Termini station. The room was small but enough for the two of us and also had a terrace. Wifi in room was a plus. The only thing we did not like is that this small hotel does not have a lift and... More

Hotel Ducale is a small hotel located in the Esquiline area, the nearest metro station (Vittorio Emmanuelle) is about 5 min walk. The Termini station is about 15 min walk, tourist attractions nearby are the famous Santa Maria Maggiore church (10 min walk), Porta Maggiore (5 min walk) and of course the Fassi gelateria (3 min walk). In any case... More

I was having a hard time finding my hotel (hotel 1-2-3) and the receptionist there was really rude and wasn't helpful when I told him multiple times after looking I couldn't find "hotel 2". After about 10 minutes of walking in circles the owner of ducal seen me and tried to help me find my hotel too. He even brought... More

Fungus in the bath! I don't like it at all. Strange damp patches on the ceiling. Are they blind? The hotel is not good for that money because of this dirty bath and so on. It is not so close to Termini, so it's uncomfortable to go there with your luggage. It's about 15 minutes walk to the nearest metro... More

We booked in advance and when we arrived late (1am) our room (hotel was fully booked!) was waiting for us nice and clean. Warm welcome, efficient, we got wifi and outdoor key-code immediately upon arrival without having to ask. We stayed 4 nights in the upper room. Room was clean, all basic needs, and comfortable. Small (empty) minibar was very... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
