We had the great pleasure to spend 4 lovely nights at the Hotel De Russie. The minute we arrived at the hotel the doormen gave us a warm greeting and took care of our bags. From there we were quickly checked in, passed by the concierge desk to get lunch reservations nearby and to get a game plan for sightseeing.... More

We had an amazing family vacation at the Hotel, staying there four nights. From the moment we walked in the door until we left the hotel staff (from front desk personnel to breakfast room staff) couldn't do enough for us. Truly first class service. The rooms were beautiful and felt almost like your own personal apartment. Bathrooms were a bit... More

There's something about the hotel industry in Rome....it seems stuck in the 20th century, which in certain ways has its charms, but it would be nice to see things move into the present. The Hotel de Russie is a gem and has a lot going for it -- location, outdoor space (the gardens are amazing), service, and amenities. But....the place... More

We have stayed at this hotel for many occasions and even though each time we go to Rome we visit another hotel (just to see what Rome has to offer), it remains the best place in town! Great service, great rooms, wonderfull atmosphere and great location. It just gives us the best Italy has to offer! Rocco Forte and his... More

Stunning hotel and the real gem is the gardens which are simply stunning. The hotel is not cheap, but is a really special place, so well worth spending the money on. If you are looking for a location to go shopping from this is perfect.

My family of 4 spent a week at the de Russie over Christmas. We were blessed with perfect weather which made is possible to enjoy the garden by day and a night cap under the heaters at night. We enjoyed our suite which had a terrace overlooking the Babuino and the Piazza. For the holiday it featured a Christmas tree,... More

We stayed in two adjoining rooms for 4 nights and from start to finish, our stay was perfect. The location cannot be beat and the rooms are large, extremely clean and quiet and the morning buffet was delicious. The staff from Max and Tito at the front to Mario in the restaurant could not be more welcoming, professional or warm!... More

A great hotel by international standards is hard to find in Rome. Maybe this is the best choice in Rome, but there is not much to say about this place other than it has a tired look. A lot of people like this kind of 20th century bland modernism look, so if you are one of them, then you might... More

This hotel has it all. The location is perfect, the decor elegant and chic. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the excellent service continued for the 4 days of our stay. Mario at breakfast knew our preferences after day one. Daniella organised wonderfully knowledgeable and pleasant tour guides. Max recommended and sorted out great... More

I confess up-front that I'm biased. On business, whenever I travel I try to stay in the RF hotels. Why? Because the interior design is understated but amazing and MOST of all the services exceptional. I came to Rome with the family and my partner was. E&Y skeptical about the booking -so wrongly!!!! I was so happy when my wife... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
