I love the church of Santa Maria Maggiore. This is the best thing about this hotel which is steps away. Like many of Rome's hotels, this one has old and not updated bathrooms, but plenty of hot water. If you need a tub AND shower you are out of luck, and a hand held shower head isnt happening either. However... More

We purchased a package through American Express, which included this hotel. The reviews seemed mostly okay so we booked it. When you walk in, it's a tiny reception area, but very friendly and, most importantly in August, air conditioned! However, that stops once you leave the lobby. The elevators are super hot and the other floors, in general, are quite... More

This hotel has been converted from an ancient palace once used as a residence by Pope Clement 1X, into a hotel of great charm and elegance. It is centrally situated in Rome town centre, right opposite the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, very close to the main railway station, and the air terminal. The rooms are of a good size and stylishly and elegantly furnished.The... The location of this hotel makes it easy to access all major landmarks by foot. The building is a great historical building and it has a chapel on the third floor. The reception staff is efficient. The rooms are fair size. The towels are changed daily, not so the bed sheets. One would expect more from a four star hotel.... More

Staff was excellent to deal with particularly in answering questions regarding city transportation and making restaurant recommendations. Worth paying a little extra to stay close to the Termini (literally a 5 min. walk about 3 blocks) rather than outside the city core. You are about a 10-15 min. walk to the Collosseum but I would recommend using the city Metro... More

This is an older midsize hotel, about 5 minutes walk from Termini station and 10-15 min walk from the Colosseum. We are walkers and also walked from here to the Trevi fountain, Spanish steps and Pantheon. You can walk to Termini and take the red A line metro to Octavianno stop for the Vatican- very easy. The staff was great,... More

Beautifully converted 17th-century palazzo. Five days into a two-week stay, I sprained my ankle badly and had to go to a hospital. I don't speak Italian and was traveling alone, so this was a daunting prospect. The duty officer at the American Embassy offered minimal help: "Ask the front desk at your hotel to help" was his advice, and luckily... More

We stayed in Rome conveniently located near the santa Maria cathedral. Only 10 minutes walk from the colosseum and only a 5 minute walk from the termini, made it a perfect location for our stay in Rome. The hotel was nice with friendly staff, the bathrooms could have been cleaner....breakfast is typical Italian style everything is sweet. In the area... More

We stayed in this hotel in June and were in Rome for a long weekend. The hotel is a 4*, however it is more like a 3*. The staff were nice and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was OK. The best bit was the pastries, the rest was not really up to scratch. There is no... More
