Good location - Termini station literally round the corner & 10/15 in walk to main attractions. Hotel room was very clean and ample size for 2 people. Some of the best restaurants in Rome located near the hotel. On a negative, there is no free wifi & breakfast is very limited. For £60/ night though, very happy. PS. Don't go... More

Sent here by David Urquhart/Sky Travel. Been to Rome twice before but this was an eye opener. Felt uncomfortable and un-nerved when outside hotel as it sits on a street with no other hotels, surrounded by graffiti, boarded up premises with males hanging about outside at all times of the day. Think it is in a sort of China Town... More

Travelled to Rome with a friend for the Italy/England Rugby 2014 Six Nations match. Stayed at The Mariano for 2 nights 14/15th March. The hotel is very convenient for Termini station which is within an easy 5 minute walk and also convenient for the centre which is more like 15 minutes walk downhill, so the journey back is a little... We stayed at this hotel a while back in a room upstairs. We walked in and were overcome by the smell of sewerage. When we went downstairs to ask the concierge to move us, we were told there were no other rooms available and pulled out a can of air freshened from underneath the counter and told us to try... More

Perhaps it's because of the nature of Rome's hotel prices but compared to where we stayed elsewhere in Italy, this was a very Ordinary hotel. It's almost as if you are doing them a favour by staying. If you are lucky, the assortment of Grumpy men at the reception will give you a grunt of acknowledgement, the breakfast is bread... More

Me and my partner stayed here at the start of June for a long weekend, fantastic location in terms of the bus and train station, however it is a little bit basic. Very clean and can't complain on service but don't expect any frills. We paid a reasonable price and the hotel provided a good base camp to go out... More

Less than a 5 minute walk with your suitcase from Termini Station. There are trains to the cruise port and airport from here. Termini is also the crossing point for the nth sth and east west Metro lines. The metro is cheap and gets you to the Vatican and the Colloseum and Forum. We stayed twice, both times on the... More

We travelled for a three night break to Rom and stayed in a double room. The Mariano Hotel is nicely located yet in quiet part and very close to metro station. Not knowing Rom at all after 15 minutes talking with clerk at the reception we left with a map where all the main attractions and path to get there... More
