Let me be honest..and practical. This is not a luxury hotel, right? They provide decently courteous staff with clean fairly big rooms. No free wi fi and breakfast is very standard..they offer milk, juice, cofee, hard bread, croissants, cheese, butter and chocolate spread. Do not expect very high standards but it won't disappoint you if you go with reasonable expectations.... More

Checked details of hotel on website, stated there was a bar, if so usually offer snacks or light bites. Arrived in pouring rain with partner in wheelchair, me pushing, and 2 suitcases. Taxi driver did not know hotel, had to get map out! Went around the station twice to increase fare. Reception warned us about going out that night as... More

This hotel stinks!!! It is right above a Chinese restaurant and the smell goes directly into the hotel. When you shut the windows all you smell is the mold and vinegar coming from your bathroom. I'm pretty sure there was feces on the shower Curtain in room 113. Now that we talked about the smell leta talk about the fee... More

The rooms were a bit dated, though some were being refurbished. Clean hotel with a good location. The owners were always very polite and helpful. Breakfast was ample for a good start to the day. Wi-Fi available at reception for a small additional charge.

Location- it's near the station, about a 2 minute walk Drug addicts, beggars, prostitutes the streets Constantly smells bad Staff- barely speak English, rude. Cannot help you with anything without making it a big deal Wifi- 5 euro for 7 days, good price but hardly works in rooms Breakfast- Don't bother paying for it, McDonald's is 5 minutes away in... If you're visiting Rome for the first time, Termini district might be a right choice. Hotel is 3 minutes walking distance from termini station. It's easy to reach bus or metro. Big clean room. Very uncomfortable bed. I'd asked a queen size bed but they'd put 2 single beds together. White clean but torn towels. Nice if you're just planning... More

We stayed for a night before and after a cruise. Arrived late at Termini and walked to the hotel: no more than 10 minutes. Room was small but clean, nice linen. Breakfast included bread rolls, croissants, cereals and spreads. Juice and a coffee machine for drinks. Management was friendly. Wifi €3.00 unless you booked hotel directly and then it was... More

Stayed in Rome for 2 nights, so all we needed was a place to sleep that was clean and comfortable and that is exactly what Hotel Mariano was. We didn't pay a hefty price so we weren't expecting a 5* luxury resort! The rooms are clean, beds are really comfortable, and they were cleaned daily. Breakfast didn't have the biggest... More

This is not a bad little Hotel, once an Officers Quarters....it is a small clean and friendly place to base yourself at for a couple of days. 3 star hotel is what it is, nothing more.....the staff are friendly enough, the rooms are basic, but very clean. Comfy firm beds, TV, wardrobe, very modern shower room with sink and toilet... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
