Domus Australia in Rome was first class. Up to date rooms with ensuite: huge bed, adjustable air room temperature, huge shower, tea and coffee making facilities, all useful inclusions such as iron and ironing board, complimentary bottled chilled water, a shower cap, all of which were not available in other hotels in Europe. Huge cupboard and mirrors, soft huge towels,... More

I stayed at this hotel during June 11-14 (three nights) for a family reunion trip to Italy with my mom and aunt whom I haven't met for past 6 months. When I was booking the hotel room on expedia.com, I booked a room for two persons, because on the booking page it said "extra bed available upon request." I was... More

This boutique hotel is located within easy walking distance from the main train station in Rome. The hotel is clean and quiet- our room was a good size, with a huge bed - and great size bathroom- plenty of room and excellent amenities. There is a lovely restaurant within the hotel that serves breakfast as well as dinner- we had... More

We had 5 nights in this lovely hotel. Rooms are big especially for European standard rooms, they are quiet and very comfortable. I have to agree with other comments the staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant was great too and catering for a food allergy was no problem. We would highly recommend this hotel.

I absolutely loved this hotel. I had been recommended by a number of work colleagues and we were not disappointed. It was like being at home away from home. Location was fantastic and the hotel were always accommodating to whatever we required. We found one of the best things about this hotel was the washing machine/dryer facilities as well as... More

We enjoyed the staff, our accommodations and the restaurant. Our room was quiet and overlooked the lovely courtyard. We were in walking distance of the Metro and the sites in Ancient Rome. Front desk staff were very helpful in organizing our tour to Assisi. The attached Catholic church was lovingly restored and features Australian Catholic history in photographs and art.... More

This was a great place to stay when in Rome - not cheap but certainly worth the little bit of extra comfort. Pretty well located with respect to many of the major tourist sites, great friendly and helpful staff, and fulsome wholesome breakfast - certainly kept us going well past lunch. No hesitation in coming back - most Aussies will... More

Domus offered a quiet space in a great location. Everything was neatly presented and clean. The bed was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional. Domus is in a great location-right near restaurants, great wine bars, train station and some of the sights of Rome aren't far to walk either. We'd stay again... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
