This was a great place to stay when in Rome - not cheap but certainly worth the little bit of extra comfort. Pretty well located with respect to many of the major tourist sites, great friendly and helpful staff, and fulsome wholesome breakfast - certainly kept us going well past lunch. No hesitation in coming back - most Aussies will... More

Domus offered a quiet space in a great location. Everything was neatly presented and clean. The bed was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional. Domus is in a great location-right near restaurants, great wine bars, train station and some of the sights of Rome aren't far to walk either. We'd stay again... More

I stayed at Hotel Domus prior to and after my tour of Italy and the accommodation was excellent, the bed was lovely and had a very comfortable bed, and I also had a small balcony. The room was very clean and the bathroom facilities were great, particularly the roomy shower as in some hotels I visited these were very small.... More

We stayed at the Domus Australia for 7 days during our first visit to Rome. Everything about the place is just right. The rooms wer every specious, very quiet, clean and the service was very good. The reception was extremely helpful and informative. The breakfasts were plentiful, and reasonably varied. We dined at the restaurant for one evening meal, which... More

I stayed at Domus Australia as part of a large group for 4 nights. It's been recently renovated and is generally very nicely appointed. Breakfast was excellent - nice range of things to choose from and slightly different selection every day. We also ate in the restaurant one night which was reasonably tasty but not the best food in Rome.... More

lovely, blissful place to stay. The rooms are a generous size and beautifully clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Located not far from the train station (6.50 euro fare) and as I was leaving before breakfast the following morning the staff arranged a take away breakfast box for me.

We came across Domus Australia rather by accident but how lucky were we! A great hotel, good price, superfriendly staff, very reasonable meals,... Distance to the city center is reasonable and the proximity of the central station maken this a very good place to stay.

We stayed several nights at the hotel and we found it was situated conveniently close to the tourist attractions and there are a number of restaurants and cafes close by. We found the hotel warm and friendly and very quiet at night time. We had a room on level 2 overlooking the gardens. They provided wonderful buffet breakfast. We also... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
