not the best hotel around, but if you want a great location (close to Termini station and also not far from Rome center) for a good price, this is the one ... friendly staff, our room was clean, everything ok ...

We stayed in this hotel in march 2015 for five nights. Location is great most of the signs are in walking distance and metro, bus stations are really close. The room was clean and we had no problem with the heating system. The bad sides are the breakfast is really poor even in italian hotel standards. There isn't any decent... More

We decided to stay at Zara Hotel despite all the bad reviews read on Trip Advisor because we just needed a place to sleep and take a shower late in the evenings after a whole day of sightseeing. But the hotel is VERY NICE, it is very well positioned so that you are at walking distance from all the major... More

A central location just off Via Nazionale, with the ease of access to Termini and the main tourist sites that this provides, makes this an attractive option. Exceedingly so at the prices available. If all that concerns you is a warm dry place to rest your head than that should suffice. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and quite spacious... More

The hotel is just off Via Nazionale so very central .Staff are English- speaking and very kind and helpful .We left our luggage before checking in and during our last day of stay, as our flight wasn't til evening. They helped us to find the nearest points for the hop on and off bus (which we got for 24 hours... More

the hotel is walking distance from the train station and is also within walking distance of major attractions like vatican city , the spanish steps , the colossium etc the rooms had a lot off space however our fan was broken so it was very hot in the room, overall for the price and location it was exactly what we... This is a very nice hotel if you're looking for a place close to the Subway station, and the Bus/Train Terminal (Termini) without dealing with the people carrying luggage all day. From there you can literally walk to downtown and still feel free from the touristic gravity around, you know that's important in a big city like Rome. The hotel... More

Friendly and helpful hotel staff, very good location, spacious rooms and bathroom. It is located near famous sights such as the Piazza Di Spagna and the Colosseum. It is also close to a metro station.Offers a good breakfast.

While centrally located and seemingly affordable, this hotel is clearly in a bad shape. It's more like a hostel than a low-budget hotel, with my main issues being the limited Wi-Fi (just in the lobby area and not in the rooms) and the overall feeling that I am in a decrepit building, which is not great for vacations. You may... More

Unfortunately our booking for the hotel we chose was not sent to the hotel, therefore the hotel manager went to great lengths to find another one for us. Unfortunately he was only able to find a vacancy at hotel Zara in Rome and we were not privy to previous reviews on this hotel. The staff were rude and did not... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
