My husband and I intended to make a reservation at the Hotel Virgilio in Orvieto but erroneously booked at the Hotel Virgilio in Rome. We were only made aware of the error when we arrived in Orvieto without a reservation. The wonderful woman at the front desk not only found us rooms for 5, but offered to contact the Hotel... More

We stopped here thanks to the recommendations found in TripAdv. The hotel is nearby Roma Termini Train Station and all the major highlights in Rome (except for Vatican City), you can walk to the Colliseum, Piazza Venizia, Piazza Espanya and really close to Fontana di Trevi. The hotel is good, clean and comfortable. Average. The rooms are small but this... More

The weather in Rome was very hot so the hotel's good air conditioning was important. Also the wi-fi worked well in the room which isn't always a self-evident. The staff was okay but could have been more friendly and smiled more. The room was small but clean. We would've liked to have some fresh vegetables and bananas at breakfast otherwise... More

This hotel is in a great location, a 10 minute walk from the Colosseum and an 8 minute walk from the nearest Metro station. There are also lots of great restaurants on your doorstep! The staff were helpful and friendly (printing boarding passes and coach tickets). I stayed in a double economy room; the room was small and dark (the... More

Hotel is in a great location, central to everything. Clean, quite and reasonable value for Rome. Amenities basic but good value, good breakfast, bathroom a bit small but workable. Plenty of good restaurants in the area, especially one just down the end of the street Al Boschetto and they have a nice garden area in the back of their area.

The service was good. Breakfast was your typical continental breakfast-nothing extraordinary. The economy room was quite small- there was just enough room to walk. Granted, we were in Rome to see the sites and not be in a hotel all day, so it sufficed for our stay. If you are coming from the Roma Termini station, it is a walkable... More

Stayed in Hotel Virgilio in April 2015. It was an ideal location, minutes away from Trevi Fountain, the Colloseum and several other big attractions. Breakfast was included in the price and was an ideal start to the day. It was self-service with a good choice of continental foods. Room was spotless and spacious. Staff were very helpful. Would stay here... More

Location is excellent,10 min from Rome Termini, 10 minutes walk from Colosseum and the Roman Forum, Fontana di Trevi and ~20 min to all other attractions of Rome. Staff was very friendly and offered good advice. Breakfast served until 10 am with great varieties and a really good espresso I recommend this hotel: good cost and benefit balance.

Clean, excellent location, no bad surprises. ........ Almost in the middle of Rome........ If you are here for the city and looking for a real effective hotel, this may be the one............. Oh and the breakfast.. It was really a huge breakfast... I did not need to have lunch after that.. :)

The hotel is very well located, 10 mins walking from the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia and the Roman Forum and in a quite road. The room we had (132) was really small for 2 people and the decor is quite dated and needs a good refurbishment. The bed was too firm.We were on the first floor and you could hear people... More

Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt.
