Great hotel, located in the heart of Rome, close to every place. Small and nice, with very good stuff. Especially Valerio and Antonio, both very helpful and kind. Wifi is ok, breakfast really good, clean. The rooms are small, but all in all the place is highly recommended.

Pro: Hotel was clean and in a very central location right across from the Duomo. Very easy to find. Service from front desk was excellent. Reception took us to our room to show us how to use the key activated light switch. Breakfast at the hotel was great (lots more selection compared to most places). Wifi connection was strong and... Stayed here late September 2014 with my wife, we had a twin room on the 2nd floor to the rear courtyard as a consequence it was nice and quiet, maybe not the best view but as we were out all day it didn't matter. The rooms are adequate with a decent bathroom and dressing room, despite other comments the beds... More

We stayed here for four nights, not bad for the price we paid. The room itself was rather small but clean and the bathroom shower was a little tricky getting in and out of. The staff were friendly and helpful and the stay included a daily breakfast which was OK. Good area centrally located to main attractions but they do... More

We had a terrible experience with Hotel Virgilio in Rome, Italy. The staff was extremely rude- from check-in, the man did not make eye contact, handed over the key roughly, with just no warmth. When we called down to ask about the internet not working, our 5 phone calls were not answered. When I walked down to speak to the... More

We went to Rome during the peak tourist season in August when the prices are incredibly high. The hotel was functional, clean and good value for money for what we paid. We had a hiccup with online reservation where the rate at which we booked was not the actual one but it worked out well in the end. The rooms... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff were amazing, even arranging on behalf of my husband, to have the most beautiful flowers put in our room for our arrival. Our room was spotlessly clean, nothing out of place. They cleaned the room and made the bed each day - wonderful. The breakfast... More

Our trip to Rome was some 2 years ago but restraints of time have prevented this posting and hence the confusion re date of stay. Again we weren't on a ritz budget rather looking for a hotel that offered convenience to all of Rome . Hotel Virgilio proved to be such. Ideally located (walking distance to termini station- 15 mins;... More

Where do I start...hotel beds & pillows hard as a concrete slab. Rooms need decorating, had patched up wallpaper & mould on walls. Supposed to be satilite TV, could only get 2 English speaking channels. No tea & coffee facilities. The bathroom was clean & breakfast was good.

It was ok, we had standard room, small ants were all over the floor in the bathroom. Staff was courteous enough for European standards, breakfast was good, they offered many choices for picky eaters. Beds were very uncomfortable, plus noise from the street kept me up all night.

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
