In Rome after a Mediterranean cruise and was seeking a well located hotel to take in as much as possible before heading home. Rome hotels are on the pricier side but the Selene was actually very reasonable. We were traveling with our three year old daughter and were able to book a room with a king size bed, (a REAL... more

Given the prices of hotels in Rome this was a reasonably priced budget hotel. It is very well located being only five minutes walk from Rome’s main Termini station (and bus terminal) with many good cafes and restaurants nearby. Room decoration is rather dull but the rooms are well soundproofed with efficient and quiet individual air-conditioning control. Very efficient shower,... more

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Selene on the last day of our trip to Italy. We chose to spend our last night there because it was close to Termini and we needed to catch an early flight the next morning. While the hotel is close to the train station, we found a lot things lacking. Here were the... more

We paid 135 Euros a night for a double room. The room was modern and nicely furnished. It had a bathroom with a shower which was nice, and had a hairdryer. The room had a TV (with CNN and Eurosports for English speakers), mini fridge and a safe. The bed was comfortable and the furniture nice. The location of the... more

We selected the Selene for its closeness to Termini transport connections and its reasonable rates. After reading reviews wasnt quite sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the overall standard. Initially finding the hotel wasn't too easy as we arrived at night as there is no neon sign, but its only a 5-10 min walk from Termini one... more

This hotel is exactly what I expected of a hotel in Rome. Not the most stylish but met all our needs perfectly. It's in a great location just down from Termini station and also just off Via di Nationale which is a lovely street to walk and have bit to eat. The reception area is funny as it's not in... more

We stayed at the Hotel Selene twice, once in late September and again in mid October after booking this hotel through Venere.com. The hotel is located 2-3 blocks from the Termini station and is convenient if travelers need bus, subway, or train service. The area surrounding this hotel is quite run-down looking, but does have a few small cafes within... more

Overall, I had an wonderful experience. Although the builiding is old (after all, is Rome :-)), the room was clean and quiet (10x to the wall sound proofing) and surprisingly big. Breakfast was ok (not rich, but satiable) and the stuff was more than pleasant. The hotel is close to Termini and the area is safe, so.. Yes, I would... more

Our family of three spent three nights at this hotel. The location was good and close to a metro station. Easy walk to Trevi and Spanish steps, and also close to some of the larger churches. The room was nice and clean. The bathroom was very nice and large by US standards. Beds were very firm and not much padding,... more

Firstly: The advertising for this hotel is misleading. Under room amenities, it lists "internet access" which is not true . Their internet access is a single computer in the tiny hotel lobby, with the screen facing the reception desk from a distance of two feet. There is no way to get internet access in one's room. Secondly: The bathroom amenities... more
