As with everything else in Rome (like the Sistine Chapel) book way in advance to avoid disappointment. We booked this hotel at short notice and were disappointed. 15 minutes walk from Spanish steps along a busy road, rooms very small, basic and not very clean. One room was decorated like a jungle with just a small window out on to... more

We booked by mail and you receive a confirmation mail few hours later. When you arrived, the service was performant and the room (included bathroom) was very clean, with a good dimension, etc... The hotel is in the centre of Roma and you can visit the historic town by foot. We had just take bus to go to Vatican, but... more

Good we checked email before leaving for Rome. After sending us a confirmation of our reservation they sent us another email cancelling our reservation without any explanation. We were left to scramble to find an hotel at the last minute. They never replied to our email. I would not trust this place. more

This is a basic hotel with no frills, but we found it much better than hotels we'd stayed in a few blocks closer to the train station. The rooms are small but fine to sleep in, the plumbing is fine and the air conditioning was not strong but did help. The breakfast is adequate though certainly not cheerful. As previous... more

Location was brilliant - and in Rome this really makes a difference. We have just returned from this hotel. It is within easy reach of Rome's main station and the Coloseum and is a good base for exploring the city. We had a nice room with a balcony with a great square view. The breakfasts here are excellent and they... more

Stayed in this hotel in July and was very dissapointed, room was basic and very very dark and badly air conditioned, the only positive was a big bathroom! The breakfasts were a joke and were made up of pre-packed breads and weird juices that all came on the same plate, its in a good location but that about all!! more

The hotel sits on a nice square opposite police headquarters. The room was clean. There was a safe deposit box to leave valuables in. You could walk to a lot of sights and it is handy to metro stations and taxi ranks. There were a lot of good restaurants nearby and an amazing gelato place on Via Nazionale. The curtains... more

The hotel has a great location for the price; I paid 145 euro for a single. The location is within walking distance of the center of rome and is great if you arrive my train. The rooms are small and clean and they have safes and the personel were helpful. If you book here, you might want to get a... more

I stayed at the Dorica for 4 nights based on reviews from this site. I'm really glad that I stayed there. Although it was a bit more expensive than I wanted (130 Euros per night in high season for a single ), it was definitely worth the money. Cleanliness, location, and staff - all fabulous. Room: The room was a... more

We (husband, wife and adult daughter)stayed 4 nights in Rome in June 2006. This was our first visit to Rome so I did a lot more research on where to stay and what we might expect from Hotels. First it was a bad start because it was more difficult to find than the map suggests, this is more due to... more
