We spend 5 nights here in december and found this hotel nicer than we expected. It's very close to Termini station and also some tourist attractions like Santa Maria Maggiore and can have a nice walk to the Colosseum. The rooms are clean and modern, the bathroom is an open place ( don't worry, you'll have the intimacy); there is... More

Only spent 12 hrs in property. It was a perfect place to crash for the night in Rome- 5 minute walk to train station, great restaurant next door, and comfortable accommodation. Good staff and reasonable sized rooms with modern minimalist design.

My husband and I recently stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. The location was good, two blocks from the metro and within walking distance to major attractions such as The Colosseum and The Forum. The breakfast was okay....nothing special, but not bad. Despite the convenient location, however, we wouldn't stay there again. First, as other posters have noted, the... More

Dear Amber, we are deeply sorry for the problems you had here, it's a mess that our efforts were not enough to give you a service as good as your expectations. Yes, we have some really modern rooms, with blue glasses for the bathroom and a charateristic design: of course it's ok if you did not like them but, if... More

The location was perfect. The room was also very nice and clean. The price was very good as well. It was very quite. U can find many restaurants in the same street. I liked the breakfast however the coffee was from the machine not very Italian style. I definitely suggested.

Only two blocks from Termini Station, the hotel is in the touristy section of downtown Rome. Plenty of restaurants, souvenir shops, clothing stores nearby. I felt safe (traveling alone) in the area. The price was right, the hotel was clean, a capacious room by European standards, and was very quiet - no traffic allowed in street out front (although I... More

We stayed at California for 3 nights and we were very satisfied. Room was reconstructed, clean, breakfest OK. Very good location near Termini station. Staff were helpful. Hotel is not far from Colosseum and other historical places.

5min from Termini station, very safe arrea with metro buses or walking distance to any roman attraction, I was so glad I booked it. Clean, staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is decent, tv and wifi work fine, there is a safe and an italian massive shower! the only criticism you could make is a bit of noise from the... More

I stayed in Rome with my son for 4 days and we stayed at California. The location couldn't be more ideal in relation to Termini and just a few minutes walking to the Colosseum. The room is spacious and nicely decorated. Beds are hard but as this is common, I always carry my memory foam topper with me. It was... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
