A beautiful view from the rooftop deck is the best of this hotel. Price is reasonable and the rooms are very clean. I loved the Monte neighborhood, especially via Urbana. Breakfast is a bit below average. Definitely go up top, enjoy a drink at their small bar and enjoy a warm summer night with great views of the eternal city!

I visited many of the sights and walked to all of them comfortably from this hotel and I felt safe doing so during the warm, sunny weather. Upon arrival the staff were welcoming and I was immediately given a map where all the main points were circled and a porter took my suitcase to my room. I cannot fault the... More

Hotel room was warm, a/c was just a window unit. Not very cool. wifi did not work in the room at all. I spoke with the desk several time regarding the wifi and I was told it was working but it did not work in room at all only in the hotel lobby. Main reason I booked was a/c and... More

Hotel Colosseum is in a great central location. As the name suggests its only a 5 minute stroll from the Colosseum itself. All of the main attractions in Rome are within walking distance, even the Vatican. Ok, there are the open top buses and the Metro, if your not so energetic, but then you'll miss out on all the the... This is a great hotel lovingly run by owners Stefano and Ricci. It's very clean and the roof top terrace has views to die for. The location is perfect for visiting the main sites and it's quiet. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

This is a great hotel. It’s very close to the train station, metro, and all the sites, especially the Colosseum (hence the name!) without it being slap bang in the middle of the Tourist spot. It has lovely décor, a good sized lounge/bar/waiting area and the reception staff were very polite, and helpful. There is an area where you can... More

Dear Guest Neffi, thank you for your review. Just to advise you that since 2011 Roma Capitale authority has decided on tourist accommodation tax payments due from the guests of hotels, holiday homes, rented rooms establishments, bed & breakfasts and camping grounds in Rome (this measure does not apply to hostels). The tourist accommodation tax is due for each night... More

A nice quiet hotel with a great location, only a 10 minute stroll to the Colosseum with great places to eat nearby. Close to main transport routes and tour pick up points. Cleanliness was excellent. Fabulous views of the city from the roof terrace bar. Our room had a small private terrace which was great to sit outside and relax... More

Nice welcome when arrived. We were early so rooms not ready but they put our luggage in storage. We went up to the rooftop terrace and ordered drinks. Fantastic views over the City. The weather was great so we didn't mind the wait. The reception area is very traditional and ornate. The rooms were a little on the small side... More

Hotel Colosseum is a brilliant hotel in an excellent location just minutes from the colosseum. the hotel is full of character. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well equiped. Towels replaced daily and bedding several times throughout the week. The staff are all very friendly and nothing is to much trouble. The breakfast is really good and there is plenty... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
