We stayed in the Hotel Everest in July last year. We arrived at termini at 10pm and wanted somewhere close by to stay before we headed for our euro camp in Campania the next day. We got a warm welcome at reception and were shown to a lovely cream spacious room (family room for 5 of us). We headed out... More

We stayed at Hotel Everest Roma from October 16-18, 2014. It was our first stop in Italy and we loved the location of the hotel. It is a 3 star but clean and comfortable. We had an issue with our air conditioner while there (it was hot for October) and they provided us with a fan which did the trick.... More

I am a budget traveler, and I don’t have high expectations on low star hotel/hostels but this is the worst so far. We were given a room nearest to reception, a room that has a gap in between door and jamb/frame. Basically you can see the inside of the room from the corridor (and vice versa) when the door is... Room is very small, bathroom inconvenient. The shower was right above the toilet, looked weird to me. No shower cabin, only a curtain, so the entire bathroom gets flooded and looks untidy after taking a shower. Breakfast not included. But very clean and greatly located. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Takes them some time to fix things though

This was a fair priced, clean and safe hotel located walking distance from the train station. The staff was friendly. I chose this hotel because of the location to transportation. There is also a bus to the airport which is 4 euro.

Overall I would definitely stay here again! Location is perfect within walking distance to Termini station, Colosseum, Roman Forum etc. Price is fair, but I didn't like the "extra charges" for the towels, coffee, and "city tax" of 18 euro payable in cash to the hotel. Also upon leaving your room you have to leave you room keys at the... More

I stayed here in May 2014 for 3 nights the room we stayed in is very basic and no view the only plus is it did have a mini fridge. It is 2 min walk from the main bus terminal its in a good location for walking around the city centre. You get what you pay for I suppose.

we found this hotel on Booking.com. Iat first I was a little worried as it's very close to Termini train station but I can now assure you the hotel is in a nice area. Very good value for a room for four people, no breakfast included. It's in a building with 3 or 4 other hotels. Room very clean as... More

We were concerned about staying so near the train station but it turned out fine. The desk staff were very, very helpful and allowed us to keep our bags there after we checked out so we could continue to explore Rome till our train arrived. Room was clean and comfortable. Perfect for a family on a budget!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
