We picked the Royal Court as it looked like a good base for our four day, three night trip to the Eternal City, primarily as we planned to take the train (Leonardo Express - excellent and well worth the extra over the bus transfer) direct from the airport to Termini, the main railway station. It is indeed a very easy... More

We have just spent 4 days there having researched many other Rome hotels, and were delighted. We decided a day before to opt for their transport from the airport which Roman quickly organised. Remi and his colleagues were attentive and friendly whilst Ruby at the front desk was a mine of information, getting our boarding passes as well. We chose... More

We had one night in a family room - 1 double and 2 single beds. Staff were very welcoming. Very comfortable beds. About 400 metres from the Termini station and quiet. We didn't opt for the hotel breakfast which seemed quite expensive. In the evening we ate at the pizza restaurant / café nearby that sells pizza by weight.

It was our first vacation in Italy. The hotel we choose was Royal Court. To say it was super and awesome as like to say nothing. The hotel' location is very convenient. We didn't use ground transportation at all except one day when it was rain (1 day out of 10). I would like to mention the hotel personnel. It... More

Booked this as a last minute break, spending four nights here in April. The hotel is incredibly convenient - a very short walk from Rome's main Termini Station (which has a half hourly non-stop service from Fiumincino international airport). Our room was on the ground floor. Small and with relatively limited natural light - but at the rear of the... More

I was part of a group of four University Students on a budget trip to Rome in April 2015. We stayed at the hotel for three nights, having booked a cheap 'flight and hotel' deal online only a few weeks earlier, with our hotel choice based on good price, good reviews and good location. The Hotel staff were very friendly... More

Elegant, convenient hotel at small quiet street, near to Termini railway station (about 3-5 min. walking). Friendly staff most Asian, and the service was very quick and kind, with warm smiles. Our room was nice with lovely Art Nouveau furniture, Wi-Fi worked very well. TV had Italian channels, in one night we saw a glimpse of BBC program. Bathroom was... More

I stayed here with my husband for 5 nights over easter. We stayed in room 108 which was on the ground floor behind the reception. Initially I had reservations about staying in this room because I was worried it would be noisy but I'm pleased to say these reservations were completely unfounded. Room was very quiet and was a very... More

We took our daughter and her family to Rome for a quick overnight trip to see the major sights. We chose Hotel Royal Court because it had rooms that slept four, which accommodated our grandchildren. The staff was so accommodating wih every request we made. The rooms and bathrooms were far larger than other Rome hotels we have stayed in.... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Court hotel as we knew what we were getting for our money. Rome is an amazing city, if not one of the best in the world (barring it being very overcrowded and polluted.) There is so much to see and do, you hardly spend anytime in the hotel. The room was very clean... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
