The best thing of thIs hotel Is the location, very central, close to trevi fountain, colosseum and spanish steps. The room was small, but that Is the european size, so it's normal. Anyway the hotel was comfortable and cleaned. Very nice breakfast. I think it Is a nice choice if you want visit rome walking.

This is a shocking hotel and the hotel staff are the worst we have ever met!Our room was not fit for any human and was stinking of milton, with dirty walls and floors. Pure and simple disgusting!!! You had to go sideways through to the bathroom and you hadn't room to swing a cat. Hotel personnel were the rudest and... More

This Hotel offers quiet accommodation in Central Rome. We had interconnecting rooms- ideal for a family of four with pre-teens. Breakfast was part of the package- good volume, but average in flavour, lacked variety and no fresh fruit. Front of house staff were helpful and friendly. Take the Roma Christiana hop on hop off circular bus tour to get a... More

Our first trip to Rome was amazing, everything was new and interesting. Our opinion about the hotel can be subjective but let us to say few words. The location of Bolivar is perfect, the breakfast was good especially with the awesome overlooking on the terrace. The room was small but for us it was not so bad, we stayed there... More

Many times Tripadvisor was a competent advisor for me, but I’m so lazy traveler to write here…ou! Now in frosty Moscow days I remember my warm trip to Italy in deep autumn days 2011. Travelling with friend, we spend only 2 days in capital city, but after all we know the next objective for our holidays – Roma! And his... More

We just spent three nights in Hotel Bolivar, Rome and I - we all - can highly recommend this hotel!! We booked the rooms directly on the internet and got a nice reduction as early bookings - the offer was very good - and I recommend to have a look on the offers -site. As we needed two rooms for... Hidden in a back-street, like all gems should be, some of the surrounding atmosphere may be odorous but that's how it is in traditional authentic locations. Management full of enthusiasm and assistance, all the sights and sounds nearby or pleasant walks, no bother getting transport when needed. And a spectacular breakfast on the roof-terrace.

We stayed for three nights in October. The location is ideal. An easy to find place by bus from the train station. You can walk, or take the bus to anywhere in Rome from this prime location. The Hotel itself is located in an alley, so the noise is not coming from outside the hotel, but rather the inside. We... More

In reading other recent reviews, I'm glad to hear that there are two sections to this hotel. We were definitely assigned to the "old, run down" section of the hotel (we had the huge brass key rather than the key card that was mentioned in another review so if you receive a key at your check-in do NOT leave the... The rooms are very small and nothing special. The pictures on the hotel's main web page make it look like a beautiful, old-European-style hotel. Not so much in person. No free wi-fi. They make you pay for it in the lobby--only a half hour at a time. Rooms were falling apart. It's older and set back into an alley. Really... More
