This is an old hotel so don't expect new and shiny. The rooms are clean and the staff were very helpful. I was initially given a single room when I had paid for a double. I spoke to the desk staff and got a queen bed and they apologised. The location was less than 5 minutes from the Termini and... More

This is going to be a short review. We stayed at the Nord Nuovo with a school group. The location was fantastic as it was close to Termini station and so within walking distance of the center of Rome. The rooms were clean and properly appointed. The food was quite good and sufficient for our needs. However, within our three... More

Clean room, clean sheets, decent breakfast, although no hot food, but a great variety of pastries, yogurt, fruit and cheese. Juices are not great and neither is the dining room service. Internet connection was fast. People at the front desk were nice. Good location, 4 minute walk away from Termini. Around the corner (take left upon exiting) is a good... More

We stayed at 3 different hotels during our trip to Italy, and the Nord Nuova Roma was by far the best! Our room was nice enough, very clean and the hotel was close to the Termini and public transportation. Breakfast was excellent - they had some of the best donuts I have ever eaten, and the selections were plentiful. The... More

We stayed here the first four nights of a Road Scholar tour of three cities, and this was the least luxurious of the three hotels, but more than adequate. It is a block from the main train station, where you can get lots of buses or take the Metro. Plaza Republica is a block one direction and the St Maria... More

Fab hotel. Very clean. Small but adequate room. I had a single. It was ideal. Breakfast is lovely. Very filling. No fry Thank god. Only complaint. Didn't like their coffee. Fab restaurant around the corner. Allessio. Brilliant value. Also brilliant value in hotel. Mini bar excellent value compared to Ireland. Can't praise my stay in Rome enough.

The hotel is in a great location. It is quite old but clean. The biggest problem is the noise - from inside and from outside. It is not easy to have a rest in the night. At 5 o'clock a garbage trucks are collecting glass bottles and other things for approx 20-30 min. Enough to wake you up. Impossible to... More

This hotel seems to be used by big groups of tourists. The hotel is very dated and the rooms are in need of immediate updations. Though the location very good right next to the railway station i am sure there are better hotels available for the same price for a similar rate. All in all would not recommend it to... More

Expectations exceeded++. Room was quite adequate as was en-suite. Breakfast was more than continental but was busy and we often had to go looking for cutlery, 3 mins walk to Republica Metro and same in opposite direction to Termini. Two lifts and staff got me an adaptor wtihout delay. Wifi is just adequate.

this hotel is located about a block from the Rome train station. It is also near the hop on hop off pickup location. The subway is about two blocks away. Lots of restaurants in the area. The hotel rooms are large in comparison to other Rome hotels. The morning breakfast is wonderful with lots of variety. I would definitely recommend... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
