I booked this hotel specifically because it offered a gluten free station for breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights and found that the gluten free station wasn't restocked from day to day and we actually had to point out that some of it was out of date. Nice, clean hotel with friendly, English-speaking staff. Rooms are tiny but that's the case all over Rome. This is a great location for the Vatican and the price looks right. Try going to Pizzarium nearby. more

We choice this place because when we got into Rome we had a Vatican tour planned for the following morning then were heading to Tuscany. First let me say that in general the Vatican area is not a great area in Rome. I think it is safe enough, but lacks restaurants, nightlife & is not near the other attractions. I... more

Staff is very helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast served by conscientious staff. Two minutes walk to Vatican Museum entrance, fifteen to St. Peter's Square; near Metro and many bus lines. more

We were a family of 4 (two adults two kids). We stayed for 4 nights. We were provided a room with sufficient bedding for 5. Room was clean and comfortable - if not a bit small...but it is Europe after all. Breakfast was good with meat (bacon or a sausage) and scrambled eggs available each day. First things first, please stop at the Cipro metro stop not Ottaviano (though on the train map this is considered the Vatican line as instructed by the hotel directions. We stayed here for 2 nights in mid July 2009 as part of our Europe tour. The Spring House in Rome is one of the best quality Best Westerns I've seen. The location is excellent. Only two hundred yards or so from the entrance to the Vatican Museum. Nice quiet street. Excellent staff who spoke excellent English. Very helpful front desk staff who organised taxis, wake-up calls etc as necessary. Their bar is a little small but the drinks were generous plus the barman was happy to open your own bottles... more

This hotel was close to the metro station and Vatican. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast room was always crowded but you can take a tray back to your room. You have to insert your card key to turn on the air conditioner which isn't good because you come home to a hot room each day....so it takes... more

The hotel is well located, near the Vatican Museums and near the metro stations ( CIPRO or OTTAVIANO) ( 5 min walk) We stayed four nights. The room was little but really practical. There was a fridge and the bottles of water are free. The bathroom has a shower, a washbasin, a toilet, a hair drier and small bath products.... more
