Firstly, the good points about the hotel. The location is excellent and the view from the rooms over the piazza are fantastic. The bellboy was a star and very helpful and the bar staff (same elderly gent throughout our stay) was a delight!! The negatives unfortunately far outweigh the positives. We booked a superior room which looked excellent on booking.com... More

My sister & I stayed at this hotel on our recent visit to Italy. We found the facilities and staff of a high quality. Breakfasting on the roof dining area was fabulous, the view was fantastic. We stayed on our first 2 nights and last day. It is situated in a fantastic position, very close to all the sites, so... More

Excellent location, accomodating & informative front desk staff, especially the young man from Tunisia & Hector.Bartenders were friendly & served our group of 13 + snacks nightly in period decorated intimate lobbies. Hotel was old but clean. Visited from April 9-13th, windows were open, not noisy at night. Charming roof top area for breakfast or evening cocktail.

Was suppose to stay at Residenza Antica, however when I arrived they advised their hotel has been fully booked! So I got transferred to Colonna palace hotel for 1 night. This place is old vintage looking. The room is pretty average more like 2 or 3 star looking. The bathroom is clean however the shower pressure is terrible. Might as... More

Came and wasn't disappointed one bit. I wasn't expecting the Fountain Bleu or some Ritz Carlton. The reviews were right on. Sarah at the front desk was extremely helpful as we're all the others I came into contact with. The rooftop terrace was a nice touch day or night. Breakfast was satisfying. Nothing crazy but very nice. Location is good... More

This hotel was a bait and switch. It is in no way a four star, barely a two star. The location is great, but the fact that the entrance to the hotel is frequently blocked off for protests and security with the parliament next door was a pain. Our room had mold on the ceiling, the furniture was battered and... More

Great location, poor service, no wifi for last 3 days of our stay. Apart from one very pleasant staff member the rest were very unhelpful. Would not recommend as there are other hotels in the vicinity which would not be affected by the noise of the demonstrations at parliament.

Simply put, its in the middle of Rome. The value of this cannot be underestimated. No taxis, no trams, everything in walking distance. Yes the hotel is a bit old. Rooms are a bit tired, but weighed up against the location its perfect for a short trip...We will stay here again for the convienence

Visited Rome in January ahead of our wedding in Rome, looking for venues and hotels for our guests. The hotel is shabby, entrance doors dirty, rooms dated furniture scratched carpets shabby. Rooftop terrace where breakfast was served was a slight improvement on the rest of the hotel and the offerings were adequate, but barely worth getting out of bed for.... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
