What a perfect place to stay on our first night ever in Europe! We stayed 3 nights and everything was terrific - the rooms, the staff, the breakfast, and especially the location! We walked to the Vatican, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, etc. The wifi was terrible, and the hotel could use some updating, but the location and staff were worth it!

Hotel Colonna Palace´s situation could not be better. Only five minutes walk from the hotel to the ancient Rome: Forum Romanum, Capitolium, Pantheon and Fontana di Trevi, The famous shopping streets around Spanish Steps are also nearby. Hotel surrounding area is very quiet because of the opposite Parliament house, which is guarded by many policemen day and night. Hotel has... More

The hotel is centrally located near Trevi fountain and also near the pantheon. You can also walk to the Vatican city within 20 minutes and fairly close to the coliseum. I was looking for a hotel that I would not need a car to get around since that is a difficult task to accomplish in Italy. If you do decide... More

The location is very nice, in front of the Chamber of Deputy, but the room rates are too expensive if you consider rooms haven't been refurbished since the 80'. I would not recomend it as with half of this price in the area nearby you can find better and nicer accomodations.

This hotel is in the heart of tourist Rome only minutes from the pantheon and Fontana di Trevi the room and bathroom are quite nice and it has English speaking TV channels which is a plus. the only downside is the Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby and although can be picked up from your room Is very weak.... The hotel is in a prime position in the centre of Rome. The rooms are tiny, there is no lunch or dinner, just breakfast. The wifi seldom worked in the room, only worked well when your on the roof having breakfast which was great on a sunny morning. Some of the staff were friendly some not so. This hotel is... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed there for 7 (!) nights. The Hotel saved our whole trip. In August it is so warm in Rome - i almost passed out. At the Hotel there was excellent air condition, TV with many channels. We had a big and beautiful bed, the roof was high and Italian style. The bathroom was pleasant -... More

On previous Rome trips, my Wife and I stayed in the outskirts and cabbed or bussed in city center. Colonna Palace is in the center of the old city within walking distance of all major sites including the Vatican. It is a charming older hotel with a helpful staff and a 9th floor breakfast restaurant with a panoramic view of... More

My mother and I shared a room last week which we both found very comfortable. Pretty typical european accommodations. Unfortunately, my cousin stayed in another room and had to look at many rooms before she found one that didn't have the distinctive odor of dead animals. The hallways are pretty dated and dark, but the rooftop area where breakfast is... More

For my first trip to Rome, this hotel's location was perfect. It is just 5 minutes to the Pantheon, good restaurants, and shopping. The garden terrace for breakfast is beautiful, with a wonderful view of the city. The breakfast buffet is well stocked with anything you could desire, and the croissants were the best I have ever had, even surpassing... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
