My wife and I were treated to a 5-day trip to Rome by our children. They chose Hotel Amalia so we did not have a choice. What a positive surprise it turned out to be! Location, location, location sums up this Hotel for anyone visiting the Vatican and central Rome. The main entrance to the Vatican is under 10 minutes... More

This hotel was ideally located within a few minutes of the Vatican City and St Peter's Basilica. The hotel's physical layout afforded greater security for patrons with the reception desk controlling access to the rooms, and each floor containing an additional door to the hallway with buzzer/video camera controlled access; great peace of mind. The free breakfast was a continental... More

We stayed 4 nights in a superior room and it was most satisfactory, clean and very quite up on the fifth floor facing into the court yard. Absolutely fabulous location, the neighbourhood was a delight and if your willing to explore you are very quickly off the beaten track and can find a few gems in terms of local resturants.... More

Nicely located close to Vatican. Metro station is 5 minutes walk. Good place for staying for couple nights. Our room was on the top floor and had a view at cupola of the St. Peter's Cathedral. Room is small but nice and cosy, staff is friendly. There were some problems with WiFi on our floor, we got a connection just... More

Stayed for a night to be close to the Vatican. Pretty pricey for a tiny standard room. Its in a suite on the 3rd floor. The weirdest part, the toilet is practically in the bedroom with no door. Its exotic to have no doors in the shower , but not true for the WC. Bad: 1. Hardly enough space in... More

Thank you for your review. We have analyzed your review and we understand that open bathroom was not a good idea and we proceeded to install a door for more privacy. 1) definitely, if you was staying with us more nights, we would proceeded to give you a more spacious room. 2) we need to think about it; 3) I... I must admit that the hotel Amalia took me by surprise. For less than 80 Euros a night including breakfast, in one of Western Europe's capital cities, I wasn't expecting such a luxurious place to rest my head. As mentioned, the hotel occupies two floors of a residential block 200m away from Ottovani tube station and 500m away from the... More

Wife and I stayed at the Amalia Hotel 09/July/2014 -16/July/2014. Very close to the Vatican Museum, train station and bus stop. Staff was very helpful. Excellent breakfast to start our day. Felt very comfortable and safe. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Room was very clean. We will stay here again on our next Rome visit.

From the outside, this hotel looks huge, however it only occupies 16 rooms, which is the reason for the small breakfasting area. There were 4 in our family and the size caused no issue. It was a typical continental style buffet, with enough choice to satisfy individual tastes. Those who have left negative feedback need to embrace local culture or... More

We stayed at the Amalia Hotel from June 16-20 before leaving for a cruise. I read a lot of hotel reviews before deciding, and I am so glad we made this choice. We stayed at this beautiful, friendly, comfortable hotel 6/4/2014-6/7/2014 It is right across the street from the Vatican Museum entrance.
