Stayed two nights at Hotel Dei Consoli, a central hotel but not in the busiest part and with walking distance to the main sightseeing attractions. Our room was a bit small for two persons but still ok since we didn't spend much time there. They had a nice breakfast on the roof terrass with a nice view over the city.... More

I was invited here for an after dinner limoncello and it was adorable. There is a portion covered with tables and chairs and then an outdoor area surrounded by lemon trees and white lights. Then there's the view of St. Peter's in the distance... just lovely! I was also here for a private dinner provided by the owners... home cooked... More

I ended up with this hotel through a Hotwire booking, so we got great value for the location. The hotel its self is nice, although starting to show a bit of wear...and there was an unfortunate smell on our floor (not sure what it was). The rooms were clean though and all of the staff was very friendly. The concierges... More

We booked this hotel due to the proximity to the Vatican. It is rated 4 stars but it had only basic amenities. No lobby, no restaurant. Single room is very small. The toilet was spacious though. Clean and staff helpful.

This hotel gets a 4-star rating, because although the rooms can be a bit small, the hotel is great value for money in a great location - and you don't always get both these things in Rome! We always stay here when we're in Rome, but in the "Dependence" (via Germanico, off via Ottaviano) - extra rooms that the hotel... More

Excellent small hotel ideally located near St Peter's Square and the Vatican. The room was of a reasonable size for Rome and had a balcony to enjoy the fresh air. Air conditioning worked well. The breakfast, served in the roof garden bar, was very good and unusually served bacon and eggs. It was very clean and well looked after. Some... More

We stayed in July 2015. Conveniently located to visit the Vatican and easy access to public transport and reasonable restaurants. Despite all the good efforts from Fabricio at the entrance (when on shift and present), the disappointment is the very limited facilities that would be expected from a 4 star hotel and a 4 star priced hotel.

I would probably give it a 3.5 out of 5 as there are some good bits which do push it towards a 4. Great spot for a visit to Rome. Near a tube station and a number of bus routes and more importantly very close to St. Peter's square! We walked to the main areas a few times and it... More

Hotel is well situated, minutes from the Vatican, the subway station (Ottaviano) and many good restaurants. Minutes walk from SIT bus stop (Beware! streets in Rome have not all names on them, if you are like me and are more paper map than Smart phone GPS you might have problems finding your hotel) In my opinion the hotel is not... Stayed at this hotel for a city break in March 2014. The web site is truthful, all the facilities mentioned exist, but the scale is not as expected. Reception is a desk under the stairs, there is no other ground floor. The central feature of the hotel is the stairwell / lift. There is a bar on the first floor... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
