This hotel is pretty average. The parking is free but it's street parking and if you don't find a free park from the few spots you have to pay for parking. Located in a pretty convenient location, lots of eating spots and shops close by, also close to a university. Rooms small, bathroom very small, breakfast is excellent. Area doesn't... More

Hotel staff was very courteous and our stay was excellent. We had problems with ants in one of the rooms and when we mentioned to hotel staff they immediately found a solution and moved us to another room. The food was excellent and the accommodations as well. Will stay again.

Lovely hotel in the university area of Rome. Pleasantly surprised by some of the extras offered - coffee and croissants on arrival. short walk to metro then 2 stops to Termini to change for easy access to all the main attractions. Nice bars and hotels in this area too - just nothing opened on a Sunday! Staff were excellent and... More

A very nice location in a comfortable neighborhood, comfortable and clean rooms, kind personnel always available for any request. Good breakfast facilities. The hotel is located in a university area, that meaning good transport system and basic food restaurants, with convenient prices nearby.

we stayed for 3 days at best western rome in May'14. the hotel is quite away from the city centre but it provided us a very good deal in an otherwise expensive city. we had booked the double room which has a capacity for 4 people. there are 2 double beds in the room. the room was very clean and... Clean, well-managed hotel in the suburbs. It was a short cab ride from Termini rail station (cost about 10 euro) to the hotel. We stayed only one might, had a twin bed room which was adequate and clean, and the price (about 95 euros) included breakfast in the AM. The front desk (Simona) was very helpful, spoke excellent English and... More

Our last leg of the 2 weeks trip was in Rome. We picked best Western throughout our journey in Italy and I have to say this is one of the good ones we have experienced in a while. The hotel is not in the center of the city and thus the location is in the suburbs. However taxi services and... More

My partner and I booked this hotel after reading all the wonderful reviews of the staff and customer service. We were tremendously disappointed as for the first three days the receptionists were rude and customer service was appalling. After all when you have traveled a long way to visit someone's country you would expect the staff of the hotel you... More

Just come back from 3 nights in the hotel. 8 minutes brisk walk from metro and Termini station. Not in the centre but for a reasonable priced hotel it was good. Could have stayed far more centrally, but at an extra cost. Room was large for 3 of us and fab bathroom. Not sure we were entitled to dressing gowns... More

Dear Bluepurse, thank you for expressing your comment about your recent stay with us! Afterall, as you have seen the location is not such a big trouble! We are very close to the metro station Policlinico and either bus 310 and tram passes by every 10 min. We wish to welcome you again in the next near future. Warm regards,... More

if you want a reasonable and not expensive hotel in Rome, you always can go with this Best Westerns. But don't expect something very good. I'm a platinum member of BW Gold Crown program - but the room was an average (really not a very good) room. Typically Best Western - low range. Ok so far.

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighborhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
