We just returned from a three-night stay at Hotel Nazionale in Rome during our family's trip to Italy. The hotel's location and staff are reasons alone to stay at the hotel. First, the location could not be better for touring the historic areas of Ancient Rome. The hotel is located on the Piazza Montecitorio and the Piazza del Parliament. It's... More

HOTEL NAZIONALE is my favorite hotel in ROME for its perfect location next to the PANTHEON and in the middle of the HISTORIC CENTER... However being on the MONTECRITORIO (PARLIAMENT SQUARE) the hotel is surprisingly quite since no car is allowed on the square... The hotel is currently undergoing a major renovation but most room have already been renovated with... More

One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Location is second to none, historic sights, a multitude of restaurants all within easy walking distance. Staff were brilliant across the board, accommodation and amenities superb. Breakfast buffet had excellent choice and plenty of it.

We had the shortest time in Rome, arriving as check-in opened, leaving the day after, in the evening. On arrival we went first to the charming bar and then up to our room which turned out to be a mini suite with a living room attached. Wonderful for relaxing. There is plenty of space, storage and comfort and everything is... More

Let me just say that this hotel is in a prime location. You are in walking distance from Rome's most iconic attractions (which is an important factor for choosing a great hotel). The hotel has a grand atmosphere with plenty of charm. The room itself had nice views of the parliament and had more than enough space for my family... More

Hotel Nationale in Rome was amazing. Very professional, warm staff, and fancy environment, but not intimidating. Excellent location with great customer service. We will be staying again next time we're in Rome.

Had an excellent stay for a midweek break. Very warm welcome from Patrick and useful tips for our stay. Good location near Trevi Fountain and many other attractions in walking distance. Breakfast is continental style as well as boiled eggs, with other options at a cost but the inclusive breakfast was more than enough for us. Cannot fault our stay... More

This is a relatively small hotel housed in an old pope's palace which is often patronized by politicians and lobbyist, in view of the proximity with Montecitorio. The area is the most desirable of Rome for two reasons: the proximity to all the major attractions and shops but also because the full area (the next buildings house the Chambers of... More

This is a fantastic hotel overlooking Piazza Montecitorio, right in the heart of the historical centre of Rome. It's situated right in the middle of all the sites you'd hope to see. The hotel is a beautiful old ex papal palace. It's very atmospheric and the room we had overlooked the piazza- simply stunning. The ceilings are perhaps 4m high.... More

This was our first time in Rome and we were very glad to have booked this hotel. The staff were fantastic and were happy to find and book tickets for The Vatican and Colosseum. Breakfast was delicious, the room was huge! It's in a lovely location very near to the central sites. Would stay here again if we return.

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
