Cannot complain about this hotel at all. The location was great. Walking distance to Castel Sant'Angelo and half hour to The Vatican. It might sound long but with views you get in Rome, I didn't complain. The nearest train station to the hotel is Lepanto which is also around a 5 minute walk. The area also has a few restaurants... more

We stayed at the Cicerone last week for 5 nights. I only booked it because it had been reduced from 1400 euros to 500 euros for that 5 nights so to be honest I was expecting something quite special and even though I had read the reviews, thought well for 1400 euros for 5 nights it must be quite good.... more

This hotel is in a good location to visit the Vatican and we also walked across the river to see a lot of the major sights i.e. Spanish Steps, Piazza Navone, Pantheon. I would argue that it is definitely not up to the standard of a 4 star hotel, more like a 3 star at most. It has a rather... more

Stayed here as part of a Globus Tour of Italy. Hotel was very nice. Within walking distance to many restaurants and stores. Grocery store not too far away was great to stock up on water and beer for the hotel room. Room was clean and bathroom was fairly large for European standards. Breakfast buffet at hotel restaurant was included was... more

We had previously stayed in this hotel and couldn't fault it but in a year the place has really gone downhill both in terms of service and appearance. The problems started when we tried to check in, we were told the hotel overbooked a group who were due to be staying there before a cruise. As such they wanted us... more

We stayed at this hotel for three nights while exploring Rome. The room was a little small; however, it was quite clean. The staff was about average for any hotel. What I liked best was the location. The subway was only two blocks away. If you don't mind walking (I don't) many of the attractions are fairly close. My wife... more

We just returned from a pre-cruise stay in Rome at the Cicerone Hotel. We were pleased at the accommodations, service and location of this hotel. One word of advise, the hotel does not provide wash clothes, as do many hotels in Europe so bring your own if you wish to have one for bathing. The hotel was booked independently from... more

Arrived at hotel via private taxi which I had booked on the internet. The taxi driver could not speak any english but the staff at the hotel were very helpful in translating for us. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was comfortable and our room was very spacious and well planned out.... more

Spent two nights this week with my teenaged daughter. The room was OK - small, not fancy. Didn't feel like a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Staff was rude and unfriendly, not attentive to our needs, would not supply an adaptor, did not send promised technician to repair hair dryer. But the location was good - easy... more

We stayed at the Cicerone for 3 nights, June 30-july 2, 2008 and found that the hotel was more than gracious to us. We asked if we could have our room a bit early after being on an over night flight, no problem. We asked to keep the room a bit longer, until we could board our cruise ship, no... more
