I was last October in Rome with a group. The hotel was booked by a travel agent. The rooms were smelling badly and had nothing to do with the fotos on the site. They told us that the hotel is under renovation ... until then i would recommend it only as a cheap stay close to the Vatican and the... more

Just got back from Rome! We stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Cicerone with my wife. I was a bit worried before our trip, after reading so many negative comments about Cicerone. Fortunately we founded those comments false. Room was old, but clean. Unfortunately pillows are flat and hard, but we managed to sleep well enough. Breakfast was nice, but... more

Stayed at the Hotel Cicerone as part of our pre-cruise package. Basic accomodations, clean room, great location for the Vatican and walking distance to most sites. The room was quite small (not unusual for Europe) and did not look like the rooms on the website, but it was very adequate. Bed was the hardest we've ever encountered. Did not utilize... more

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a group tour and we loved it! The hotel is in a fantastic location. We walked to many of Rome's sights, including the Vatican, the Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain. There are a few great places to eat very close to the hotel. There is also a grocery store close by... more

Just got back from Rome. Being there many times before and having been advised to book a room in Cicerone by a friend with a high standards, I found what I more or less expected. Hotel staff is above standards, room good sized and food excellent. Location is most likely the best in Rome (so close to the center and... more

The hotel is located close to everything you need to get to. The lobby of the hotel is nice and they give great advise on restaurants near by. The only down fall that I saw within the hotel is the size of the rooms. We stayed on the top floor of the hotel which does not have an elevator to... more

The Ciccerone was a wonderful hotel to stay. The location is great. When we checked in I asked the clerk if he had a nice room for me. He then took out his sheet, switched some numbers around and gave us a great room. Our original room was small and on the street side of the hotel, which I would... more

Before we traveled we saw many negative comments on this hotel, but I would like to report that we had a very good experience. It was the same and in some cases much nicer than some hotels in the US. The front desk staff was accommodating, the rooms and bathrooms large enough, and the breakfast very satisfactory. The central location... more
