I've been to the Cicerone several times, for work. The wi-fi is not very fast. The decor is drab and a bit old frankly. The staff is nice though. Certainly not the kind of place I would reccomend to anyone wanting to see the beauty and charm of Rome.

Being the first night of our European Bus Tour we found this hotel quite accomodating. Our room was spacious and quiet being at the back of the hotel. Having no view was insignificant. Hotel was a little dated but quite comfortable never the less. Being pretty central it was only a short bus drive to most of the main sites... More

We arrived at the hotel and the entranceway seemed great. You had to either step up or step down to get into the elevators. Our room seemed ok except the view was of an apartment out back with clothes hanging on a line. When we took showers the floor got all soaked because the glass screen only went half way... More

service was excellent from reception to cleaning. room was very good spacious, comfy bed and everything you required on suite. location was reasonably convenient for all sites. only problem we had was the evening restaurant which looked amazing but we found the food a bit of a let down.

We all had a wonderful time. Very central . Lovely area where you are more likely to be dining with the locals than with holidaymakers which we loved. The hotel was nice and the breakfast was just what you need before you head out for sightseeing

Internet connection is non existent even though the hotel calls it high speed Internet No wall sockets for European plugs in room and reception is unable to provide any adaptors The whole hotel is in desperate need of renovation (well overdue) Can't ever remember seeing such a chaos in a hotel when it comes to providing breakfast, if you can... This supposedly 4 star hotel was a bit disappointing in that the rooms, even though refurbished are below par. The first room I was allocated had 2 single beds covered in what looked like my grandmothers bedspreads. The second had two beds pushed together with one flat pillow on each side. The Front desk staff behave as if they are... More

I recently stayed at the Cicerone Hotel in Rome, Italy. The room was comfortable enough, but the pillows not so good as your head feels lower than your feet when lying down on the bed. The rooms were clean and close to the Metro and Vatican City was within walking distance which is very nice. Next time I would probably try... More

I recently got back from Rome and stayed at the Cicerone Hotel with a small group. We stayed there for 8 nights and 9 days. This hotel was highly underwhelming, the rooms were tiny, the bathrooms poorly made, the walls and the carpets looked like they were going to disintegrate. The staff was rude and intensely hostile towards us. During... More

My wife and I stayed here as part of a semi-guided tour of Italy. It was a great location in Rome and was very close to Vatican City. The rooms were very nice and clean, and, although not as large as we are used to in the USA, certainly provided everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
