We selected this hotel for two things, its excellent reviews and location. We were not disappointed. When we checked-in, we got a very small room with a great view but had a bad smell ! We complained to the front desk and were offered another room with a free upgrade immediately. The hotel had an excellent terrace cafe on the... More

I asked myself the question: "Was it ignorance of indifference? Didn't they know or didn't they care?" I found out the answer fairly quickly. But first, let me take you back to the moment that I booked the room. Comfort room? I wanted better. Superior room? Sounded good! Luxury room? Had to be quite something! As I wanted to surprise... We book this hotel knowing the history of Sofitel. It was our wedding anniversary. It was perfect ! The room, although small, was very ice looking at the villa borghese. They gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne. The staff is not only very helpful but very efficient and charming. We can only recommend thesis hotel as one of the... More

Stayed here in March. The location was OK near Spanish steps and a metro station; but could have been better. On second day of ur visit, we were attacked by a couple of gypsies 30 seconds from the hotel around 11 a.m. There were so many passerby so we were very surprised by the brazen attack. Not even one Italian... More

This hotel was awesome. Every single person there was so welcoming. They were on top of everything and they went above and beyond to make sure your stay was great. Ask for Luigi, he is wonderful. We were there for 3 nights. The hotel is beautiful and spacious compared to other Italian hotels. The rooftop is gorgeous and the restaurant... More

The Sofitel Villa Borghese in Rome is an excellent hotel that despite being very close to the Plaza of Spain is in a quiet location with great views of the city. Very nice to go on foot to the restaurants and shops of Via Veneto. The rooms are spacious (with dressing room and entrance hall), the bathrooms are new, large... More

I think it's a nice hotel, the staff are nice and helpful. The room is nice, a little bet small. The bed is comfortable, the room is well equipped. The entrance is small, the bar is on the roof , the have a nice side reception to set but no bar to have a drink.

Access to the hotel is a steep climb when walking from Barberini. Various places to eat close nearby - hotel breakfast outrageously expensive. Overall a standard 5 star, should offer free newspapers and coffee machines in rooms.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
