The transport Van to the piazza was quickly booked, but it was possible to take the transit system with a bit of research. Our room, the low cost option, was large, with a private balcony facing the quiet street. Breakfast was exceptional! Lots of options, fresh and delicious. The staff was pleasant and the neighbourhood was exceptionally comfortable and safe.... More

This hotel is quite nice and the staff is helpful. We had some issues with our room. The plug in the bathtub was broken and hard to close and the shower nozzle was garden hose like. We pointed this out to the staff, but it was not fixed. The breakfast was ok with good variety. The eggs were boiled too... More

We had a short weekend in Rome and stayed a the Duke Hotel. Although a little way from the centre, the hotel provides a shuttle service all day every half hour there and back to the Piazza Popolo and from there, its an easy walk to most places. Hotel Reception staff could not have been more helpful. One small point... More

Only negative for this hotel is that it is not within walking distance of the centre of Rome. They do however provide a free shuttle bus every 15 minutes, though booking is required. Staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room we had (120) was large and comfortable though the bed was a bit... More

Good hotel in upscale residential area which evidently is quiet and far from the city center confusion. Five minutes walk to Villa Borghese park to see the the Borghese Gallery and further five minutes walk to Via Veneto. Very kind personel.

We went to Duke hotel Rome in february 2015. We had a lovely romantic stay. The personnel was extremely friendly and helpful. Especially the lady at breakfast was very nice. The breakfast itself was extensive and good. The room ( we had the suite) was spacious and clean. The view from the terras is good. We would definitly stay here... More

The Duke is a good, busy, traditional, independent hotel that runs a professional establishment. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had an upgraded room (complimentary? but had paid for an upgrade so I wasn't sure whether it was a super-upgrade!). The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed, daily bed linen change and a good sized bathroom where everything... More

The Duke hotel is a 4 star boutique hotel. Close to the Piazza de Poppolo, chic, rooms represent traditional decor, close to train & hidden in a residential area. I will return to hotel next year.concierge was very helpful with tours.

The hotel is not central and the access to the centre of Rome is somehow cumbersome. This is probably why the prices advertised by the hotel are lower than the average accommodation in Rome. In itself, this is quite good, as the hotel has a specific Roman charm, with rooms of quality and taste. I suggest not to go for... More

Staying in Parioli

Neighborhood Profile
Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavor of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
