I really loved The Duke and there are a lot of things to love about it: one of the best things is the shuttle service to and from the city centre (looking around, the location isn't actually great, hence the shuttle). You have to call in advance though because it always fills up fast. On the negative side, the wifi... More

Overall a good hotel. If you're a walker, you can venture out to a lot of the sights on foot, if not, the hotel provides a shuttle bus into *town* where you have metro's that can take you anywhere. Breakfast is good, staff is friendly and everything is very clean. The room we were in was very spacious, but the... More

My 7 year old son and I recently returned from a week vacation to Rome and the Duke did not disappoint. As a frequent business traveler within the U.S., I've become spoiled/accustomed to staying at a certain caliber of hotel, but when traveling on my own dime, that's much more of a challenge, particularly in a major European capital where... The staff are very friendly and the rooms are spotlessly clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the vast choice of food at breakfast and the lovely lady who was always smiling and chatty in the breakfast room. If there was one thing I would say it lacked was tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

I stayed here for 2 nights before moving to another hotel to begin a tour. I prefer staying a little further out in Rome, since it is much cheaper, quieter and a far better option than to staying in the dead center. This hotel is within walking distance to the Spanish steps, the Colosseum, and everything else. It is about... More

Be aware this hotel is used for conferences, and lounge area is converted into a meeting room . Dinning area very small and limited menu. If you are looking for basic this is for you, but if you want something special with staff who go the extra mile for you don't bother ! The staff are rude and arrogant and... More

A lovely little hotel, just outside of the centre of Rome. The only downside is that you need to catch the mini-bus from the hotel to the city - is only a 5 minute drive though and if it is booked up, they will often put on an extra trip for you.

We had an amazing stay at the Duke Hotel last weekend. We booked an offer via TravelBird for a great price and had incredible service right from the start. Our hotel room had a balcony and one of the hugest beds I have ever slept in. Breakfast was 5*, with a selection of meats, hot food, home made chocolate croissants... More

very clean classic hotel, with wifi and breakfast included. food quality is ok, nothing impressive, the price is average, hotel staff are friendly, with a short walk you can find some restaurants and cafes. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to the city every 30 mins but must be booked. very quiet area, smokers may have hard times buying... More

Was too far away from the city and the breakfast was below average compared to the other 4 star hotels in Rome. Hotel restaurant was really quite unpleasant for an overpriced dinner and the bathrooms are cramped and clearly not renovated in a long time. Was our least favourite hotel in Rome.

Staying in Parioli

Neighborhood Profile
Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavor of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
