Great hotel which is well positioned within walking distance to the major attractions. If you're staying at this hotel, and to save money on transfers to and from the airport - I'd recommend booking with TerraVision - they provide a non-stop transfer between Ciampino Airport to Termini station. the station is a 5 - 10 minute walk from the hotel... Stayed for a week half board. The hotel was very central to all the attractions. The rooms were very comfortable, a bit dated but very clean, The front desk staff were very helpful. The main problem that we had was the half board as you had no choice when it came to evening meals. The head waiter was extremely rude... More

From the moment we turned up to the moment we left we loved every inch of this hotel, spotlessly clean hotel and our bedding was nice. Very comfortable bed. Room was small but beautiful, near too everything (the church opposite is beautiful and well worth a visit)Breakfast was good, coffee great, and the location for the restaurant couldn't be better... My .wife and I spent 8 nights at the Mecenate Palace and found it an ideal location for visiting Rome. While not spacious, the rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. We're glad we asked for a room on a higher floor (5th) because we slept with the windows open (no ac this time of year) and the lower... More

Couldn't fault hotel. Staff very friendly and very helpful. Buffet breakfast very good and the roof restaurant was a very pleasant way to start the day. Hotel very good location for most of the tourist attractions. Hotel bar was bit expensive but plenty of reasonable bars in location.

We ended up in Rome unexpectedly and needed a hotel room at the last minute. We searched for a place that would not break the budget and was within a short walk of the train station. We are very happy we found such a wonderful hotel on short notice. The lobby is beautiful and the front desk staff very helpful.... More

We recently stayed at the Mecenate Palace for five nights on our honeymoon. The hotel is old Italian charm, not only the fixtures and furnishings but the people too. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, this made for a wonderful trip.

Stayed here on a two day layover on the way home. Booked the room ahead of time primarily for the location to the Termini. Was treated well upon arrival and throughout our stay. Was given a 6th floor room with a NW window facing The Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. (Gorgeous at night.) Rooftop bar offers wonderful views, good... More

I have just returned from Rome after organising an all male group visit of 24 people to watch the Italy v England 6 Nations Rugby Match. I have visited Rome on three previous visits with my wife and on each occasion stayed at The Mecenate Palace Hotel. Very few of the group had visited the capital previously but all were... More
