Stayed for two weeks with wife in executive suites which are large in size compared to other rooms, breakfast bar has large selection and staff were helpful. I will happily return, close to all attractions. Get the hotel to pick u up at airport in a black cab, which maybe pricier but safer the white cabs.

We've stayed here two times within three years in Rome. The hotel is within four blocks of the Termini Station so it's convenient since we travel by train. The hotel is situated across from the Santa Maria Maggiore Church which is very large and beautifully lit at night. The Hop On Hop Off bus stop is located adjacent to the... More

From the moment we arrived at the Mecenate to the moment we left the staff at the Mecenate really made us feel special. The room was very nice overlooking the square. The bathroom was clean and much bigger than expected. The bed was comfortable. It was in a great location although we did walk everywhere and I'd say the Vatican... More

Fantastic hotel loved it from start to finish, location is terrific so near Termini Station and loads of great places to eat. Beautiful Basilica right beside hotel. Breakfast was lovely every morning a large selection and great views. Happy hour was great fantastic cocktails for me and the hubbie had pints all served with nuts and crisps. Staff were just... I actually have not stayed at this hotel and I never intend to. I emailed them regarding some offers I had seen on their website. The email I received from Andrea was brief and unhelpful. I requested to communicate with Adriano Cappelli who I believe is still the GM of this operation. Never heard back. Booked with a different hotel... More

It's a nice hotel is a terrific location with lots of places to eat nearby, from sit-down restaurants to grab-and-go spots. The breakfast buffet was good. I was there in January so I didn't get to eat my breakfast on the terrace, but I would think the terrace would be terrific in warmer weather.

Very centrally located close to train & bus stations and within walking distance to most attractions this hotel is the best in every way. Cozy, clean and excellent service and the most helpful staff. Breakfast is very abundant and with a wide selection. All made our trip so memorable.

Within easy walking distance of the main railway station and with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. On the route of the tourist buses. We were on the 5th floor with a fantastic view of the basilica. Room was very clean and comfortable The bed was one of the best hotel beds I have ever slept in. Staff were efficient... More

We arranged a taxi from the airport with the Hotel prior to our visit. The kept us informed and told us where to wait etc. The driver was courteous and polite and was a lovely drive to the hotel. Staff in the hotel couldn't do enough for you, so polite and spoke good english. Our room was on the fifth... More

We came here on a first day of honeymoon and as a first europe trip. The hospitality is with every staff at this hotel, and all the amenities are neatly placed. We most liked the radio inside bathroom! Felt like we are in a new country listening to non-understandable italian news like some music.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
