This was our first stay in Rome and we had no idea how to get about, which ended up being a great thing about the hotel. It's at the most 5 minutes from the train station and easy to find. It's also in a really great location to get to most of the great sites, with the coloseum and the... More

Came to Rome December, weather was fresh but sunny. Hotel was small and lovely. Reception staff on arrival really welcoming and helpful. Helped us book Pompeii trip. Would recommend staying here. Close to Metro/ Termini station, all day travel card only 6 euros's so well worth it. We stayed 4 days, but definitely will be back for longer as didn't... More

We visited Hotel Amalfi for my wife's birthday trip to Rome. Cosy, Clean, and very helpful staff. Great price too. Breakfast was mostly continental but was satisfying. Room was pleasant. Very well situated to start any city tours by walk or bus, close to Termini as well. The lift is absolutely tiny and they still use key for the rooms,... More

Nice place, located within a walking distance of the termini and another metro station. The rooms are clean, cosy, comfortable. The staff is very friendly: they were always willing to give suggestions on where to go, how to travel, what to see etc. I forgot a souvenier at the front desk, and they reviewed security footage to identify me and... Me and my wife stayed at this hotel in December and we recommend it, very nice personnel that welcome us with warm and kindness. It is well placed - near the Central Station Termini (5 min walking) and Santa Maria Maggiore Plaza, metro and old city center. Rooms are smaller but clean and cozy. The breakfast was very good but... More

This was my third stay at the Amalfi and as always the staff were wonderful. Everyone is helpful, friendly and informative. The position of the hotel is perfect for walking to the railway station, metro and major sights. I will stay there again when I return to Rome next year.

Had the best stay in this little gem of a hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, they made you feel like nothing was too much trouble to sort out. The hotel itself is in a very convenient location- next door to Santa Maria Maggiore and about a five minute walk from Termini train station. To get to most... More

The hotel is placed in very nice location near to all the major sites. You can walk down to this place from Termini station (5 mins), Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore (30 sec), Colosseum (15 mins). Nearest metro station is termini and Cavour. Bus stop is near by, next to Santa Maria Maggiore. On the same road of hotel... More

We've recently returned from a 4 night stay here in October. First off, i have to say that the location is great. You are far enough away from the hustle & bustle of central Rome, but close enough to transport links. Not to mention only about 3 seconds away from the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore (which is a nice... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
