The rooms in the hotel are very nice and the bath was a good size for just 2 in the room. Our room was kept clean and the desk staff seemed very nice when we needed them. The breakfast was good, if you get there early, the chocolate pastries are the ones to grab! The roof offers spectacular views and... More

Just returned from a three night stay at the Hotel Savoy and was impressed by the building and its staff. I cannot understand some of the negative feedback made by other reviewers. The rooms are clean, very tidy and the beds the most comfortable I have stayed in for a long time - especially needed after a long day exploring... More

Having read previous reviews we were concerned so had emailed to make sure there was a room for us as some people who'd booked through Secret Escapes had experienced problems. We arrived before 2pm and were told that we were being upgraded as they knew we were there to celebrate my sixtieth birthday. The reception staff were all fantastic and... More

Others have commented in the negative however our experience good not have been different. The first impressions on arrival were of a most welcoming reception staff - my wife was celebrating a milestone birthday and we had been upgraded to a superior room. Once in the room there was a knock on the door and we were presented with a... More

we had a standard room which was far better than the superior room we had had the night before in Florence. Probably still quite an average hotel room though which is what we expected. We arrived by train and found it very difficult to find going up and down the via veneto a few times in the rain. The website... More

Me,my wife and our 14month daughter spent three nights here during our stay in Rome. The entrance hall is pretty nice and we had a nice welcome from the staff. The room gave a decent first impression since it was fairly big but we soon notice that the walls was inefficiently soundproof. Your could clearly hear lots of noise from... More

Booked 4 nights at the Hotel Savoy for myself and our 2 children to celebrate our 20 wedding anniversary. The hotel is in a fantastic location very close and within 15 mins walking distance to the Trevi fountains and the Spanish Steps. The staff are fantastic, always helpful and polite and will assist with any bookings for restaurants and excursions.... More

The entrance hall gives an encouraging start but when we got to our room we felt glad we were only staying 4 nights & that we wouldn't be spending much time in the room & the time we were spending there would be asleep!!The wifi is totally useless & the attitude when querying why was that it was free &... I arrived at the Savoy at midday and was told that my room wasn't ready and was told to come back at 14:00. Fair enough, so up to the roof terrace for a few drinks and some lunch to ease into the short-break. I returned at 14:30 to find the receptionist in a complete fluster trying to find my room.... Booked through secret escapes for a good price. Hotel purports to be 4* but really only merits 3. Reception staff pleasant room adequate but paper cups for tea & coffee + no milk which had to be ordered via room service, weird. Location good, 100m from tour bus stop. Watch out for rip off taxi from station!!!

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
