It is difiicult to express in words what Rome is. I have never been to a place so vibrant, brimming with history, magnificient architecture, sublime food and the excitement of stubbling across a lesser known piazza or church. The hotel is ideal as a base as, if you are prepared to do some walking, a lot of "attractions" are close... More

When we arrived at the hotel in the afternoon there was a crowd at the front desk and only one person working behind. When we were finally addressed our room was not ready and we were sent to the rooftop where we were able to squeeze in a late lunch. The food was ok, overpriced. When we returned to the... More

My husband and I have just returned from Rome after spending four nights at the Savoy whilst celebrating our Ruby wedding anniversary. Our room number 216 overlooked the courtyard and afforded us a great nights sleep. It was very spacious with a lovely large bathroom with an open shower similar to a wet room. Breakfast was exceedingly good ,offering bacon ,scrambled... More

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great as it offered many choices. My only complaint was the wifi wouldn't work consistently.

This hotel is wonderful! We arrived in Rome for a 4 night stay to explore the city before heading to Sorrento for my brother's wedding. The location is awesome for so many options. We were able to walk to the main shopping area and visit the Colosseum and Vatican with great ease. As a runner, I loved being so close... More

In March I escorted 124 people to Rome for 3 days. I picked this hotel because it was recommended by Alessio from Arno travel in Florence Italy. The location was perfect, quick walks to just about every site in the city. The hotel is located on a quite street, it is beautiful and the staff was very accommodating. The rooms... More

Location is very good, nice neighborhood, the two girls working at the reception in the afternoon were talking to each other in front of me, while I was waiting for them for 10 minutes, I had to tell them "don't you see a costumer waiting for you in front of you"

We stayed for 3 nights. Location is everything with this hotel. Great lobby but rooms needs to be renewed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. You can catch the tour bus and taxi nearby. Bed was comfortable but stiff pillows. Breakfast was ok. The surrounding are great for night outings. There is a Hard Rock Cafe very close and l'hamburgueria... More

We stayed for three nights to celebrate our son-in-laws fortieth birthday. We were in room 222 which although not having a great view was nice and well set out. The other couple were in room 220 which wasn't as well set out and the step-daughter banged her knee on the bidet due to lack of space between it and the... More

We stayed three days two nights at the refurbished Hotel Savoy in Rome. The guest services were helpful with free email. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom that included a bidet. We loved the free morning breakfast in their large grotto downstairs. Beautiful garden top restaurant and bar upstairs where you can see the city.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
