4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed here 2 nights as a pre-cruise package. The hotel is situated within walking distance to the Colosseum. There are several restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel also has a restaurant that is good and the prices are reasonable. The staff was pleasant and informative. The rooms are a decent size and clean. The hotel is a bit dated... More

I stayed here three nights in April, 2015 and was quite disappointed. The hotel looks MUCH better online than in real life. The cleanliness was good and the location was great, but the hotel is tired and old and in great need of a refurbishment. The staff was not friendly or helpful, and some could even be considered surly. The... More

We stayed at the Grand Palatino for 4 nights and can't really say much of any note other than the location! For a 4 Star hotel the staff always seemed disinterested and not very helpful. We asked how to get to the Trevino fountain and they said 'it's about 30 minutes'. It was often very difficult to get served at... More

My husband, 4 year old son and I spent just under a week here at this hotel in April, 2015. We requested a triple room, which is just a standard double room with the couch transformed into a 3rd bed. That said, the room is plenty big and everyone was comfortable. There was plenty of space for our rather large... More

This hotel is located within an easy walking distance of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. From here you can see most of the city sights with a walk, or a short taxi ride. Hotel was clean, and the staff was always friendly and ready to help. The breakfast buffet was nice, but nothing special. There are scrambled eggs available, but... More

I was pleased with my short, 4 night stay at the Palatino. The hotel is an easy 15 minutes walk from the main rail station and about the same to the Colosseum. There is a Metro station right outside. The public areas were pleasant enough but apart from breakfast we didn't spend much time in them. Our room was on... More

Hotel was in perfect location close to all main sites. Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly, couldn't have been more helpful. Lovely hotel. Colosseum was s close and lots of nice restaurants outside the hotels. The hotel restaurant was great, and food was very good. Breakfast was plentiful and set you up for a great day of sightseeing. Everything was... More

Hotel was more than adequate for our needs. It was convenient, a block or two from the Colosseum. It offered an American type of buffet breakfast daily, but served scrambled eggs everyday. The rooms were comfortable, but there was no air conditioning available in March, because it was not Summer. This left us with a very warm room. Windows could... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
