We stayed 4 nights here and upon arrival were upgraded to 8th floor with a balcony which was nice. We found some staff were very helpful and some were just rude (and not because of the language barrier). The room was always tidy but the beds were very hard (personal preference). I called reception to ask for an extra pillow... More

Very good hotel. Staff efficient and helpful. Room upgrade on eighth floor had balcony which was great to sit on after a day's sightseeing. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold although could improve on brand of cornflakes and watered down orange juice. Bed was comfortable and room had everything you could want including bathrobe and slippers! Although... More

We stayed three nights with a Gate One tour group and this was a great hotel! The room was spotless with a spacious room and superior bathroom. The illuminated closet contained a small safe, it took a little maneuvering to fit an iPad inside. The breakfast selection was extensive, I especially like the fresh fruit with bowls of kiwi, cantaloupe,... More

Stayed four nights with a tour group. We were assigned room 618 which I presume was a standard room located on the back side of the hotel overlooking the small street below, rooftops and local terraces - quaint if not particularly scenic. Since this was our first encounter with European style hotels it took some considerable adjusting on our part... More

Rooms are clean & beds good but there is no service at this hotel. Desk staff rude, arrogant and dismissive with only one exception and I can't remember her name....housekeeping good. They tried to Bill us for dining room we had already paid. Luckily there were six of us to protest. Wifi is not dependable. Location is good, small alleyway... More

Dear Guest The majority of our guests consider the front office staff , helpfull, friendly and professional , but if someone of them was rude to you , I want personally apologize for that . I do not agree with you when you say that there is no service , breakfast from 6.30 am , is one of the earliest... More

We stayed here for 3 nights with our tour group. The hotel is clean and rooms are more spacious then expected for European standard. The bathroom was fine but someone else mentioned there was mold in the tub and we saw the same. I attribute this to a lack of air ventilation. It was not significant but these are the... More

We stayed here for 6 nights we had a superior room on the 1st floor that was large, modern and quiet. Unfortunately the wifi was very unpredictable almost non existent in our rooms and in fact I could only access wifi on my ipad when I sat on one particular chair in the lobby. That is really the only negative.... More

On our recent trip to Rome, we chose the Grand Palatino for our third stay in Rome. The Grand Palatino is in a great location and convenient to many sites. Upon arrival, we found that our rooms were cancelled, because of a glitch with Booking.com. The staff worked with us, charged us more for our rooms and said they upgraded... More

Recently stayed here as part of a tour group, lots of tours stay here so be warned. Location was good short walk to Coliseum and to Saint Mary Maggiore church. Recption staff were a little aloof but when asked for advice did oblige. Breakfast was good with lovely choice of fresh fruit available, I stayed in room 622 which had... More

It's hard to get a good hotel in Rome that's near the top sights, but the Palatino is quite good. If you get the room in the back on the top floor with the balcony overlooking the roof tops and church domes it's even better. The reception personnel are helpful when not too busy handling the tour groups. Breakfast is... More
