The best part of this hotel was the location. It is near the Colosseum and within walking distance to many other sights. To turn on the electricity in the room you need to insert your room card in a slot in the wall. This worked very well since the hotel key card never gets lost and can easily turn off... More

This place is next to the colosseum. All the other sites are also easily accessed. You dont need to use the metro. If you want though there is one nearby. Be prepared if you want to extend your stay at this hotel the price is ULTRA high. Breakfast is ok. Room is sleepable.

Great hotel that is located near the centre of Rome. Went to Rome in April with my parents as a birthday present. The superior double rooms were great and the beds very comfortable. Windows are well insulated, so you can't hear any noise until you open them. TV has only a few channels, but it does not matter when you... More

Our tour group stayed 4 nights here May 5-8. Staff very accommodating and friendly by Italian standards. Breakfasts were very good as were dinners. If you need currency exchange try one of the nearby banks or ATM's because the hotel charges a premium. Only real drawback I found was that there is no coffee available in the room. Oh, and... More

This hotel was okay. It was convenient to the Colosseum, about a 10 minute walk, and other historic sites. Our room, at the front of the hotel overlooking the main street was quite large. The metro was about half a block away. There are many, many restaurants near by. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the hotel except I didn't... More

Delighted to have chosen to stay at Grand Hotel Palatino for our 3 night break in central Rome. Close to Colosseum and Forum this was perfect central location for sightseeing, as well as plenty of lovely little restaurants, particularly in the narrow roads behind the Hotel. We walked to all the popular sites eg Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Vatican...., but... More

I chose this hotel because of its location which is fantastic. We didn't use transport at all during our four nightt stay with the exception of an organised tour of the Vatican when we were picked up by coach. I was concerned before arriving here with some of the negative reviews. The hotel cannot be described as shabby or tired,... More

The location on this hotel is to die for. The staff is courteous and the place is clean. However, Americans are used to more space than this, so definitely book a room category that is executive or higher. The new style and new style deluxe rooms are not efficient on their use of space; cruise ships do a better job... More

Stayed here for three nights in May with my husband as part of a Gate 1 tour. The hotel is really very nice within walking distance of the coliseum and the forum, and several other sights. To avoid street noise opt for a higher floor or a room at the rear of the hotel. We were on the fifth floor... More

Our tour group stayed here three nights. The only real positive thing I have to say is that the location relative to sightseeing was good. Our room was dirty. There was mold in the shower, the floor was dusty and dirty, the drapes were bulky and old. The bedspread was disgusting and old. We were told quite rudely that there... More
