We stayed in this hotel in May .It is situated a short walk from Romes Central Station and very close to a metro line. The Metro takes you to all the principal sites .We had a street facing room on the 5th.Floor and were surprised that despite the guidebook warning us that Rome was a noisy city that it was very... more

Comfortable, well-run hotel with helpful staff. Not the most attractive location, but convenient for public transport and walking distance to Termini platforms. No dinner restaurant, but coffee and drinks in the bar a high point before bedtime. Breakfast caters for most tastes and very efficient. Would readily return to explore more of Rome from this base. more

Hotel facilities and staff were outstanding. Location was very urban, downtown in an ethnic neighborhood away from all other hotels and amenities, but interesting and actually fun going to the market across the street. One way streets do make it difficult for taxis to find unless you mention the market, which seemed to be a Rome landmark. All in all,... more

The hotel is not fancy but is confortable and worth what it costs. The only aspect we didn't enjoyed very much was the location. The neighborhood is not welcoming (despite being safe during the day) but after a ten minute walking you reach the colosseum and forget that piece of the city. more

bit of a trek from the railway station than you expect - no way is it 200m - however here is a Metro stop just 50m away so the location is perfect if you don't expect to have the main sites on your doorstep. Nothing much in immediate surrounding area however if you want the Trevi fountain at 50m, expect... more

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at the Ambra in May 2008. We specified a top floor , quiet room with a pleasant outlook. The room we got on the 6th (top) floor was indeed very pleasant and no complaints .... except we had an adjoining door to the next room. Although it was locked , we were... more

We spent 3 nights at the Ambra Palace in Rome and were very disappointed with our room. The Hotel itself looks good from the outside and the lobby/ bar/ breakfast room were bright and modern. Staff on the front desk were pleasant, helpful and spoke very fluent English. Unfortunately our room was a complete let down, particularly for a hotel... more

The hotel is walkable from the main Termini and close to a market, but during our stay, it closeness to the market did not detract from our stay. It was clean, bright, the rooms well-furnished and comfortable, and staff were very polite, helpful and knowledgable of their city and what it has to offer. We had half board, and the... more
