The Ambra Palace is two streets over and to the left of Termini Station - a seven minute walk. It is at the slightly seedier end of Via Principe Amadeo, in an ethnic neighbourhood of mainly Indian, Chinese and Black residents. Ethnic bead/trinket/fabric shops abound and the hotel itself is opposite two large and colourful fruit & vegetable and fabric/handbag... More

we stayed for 6 days and the room was very nice, the corner room on the first floor, with the view to the front of the hotel. we were fortunate that because the room was on the corner of the building we had windows on 2 walls of the room and one more window in the bathroom. all the rooms... More

This hotel was clean, pleasnat and the staff were first class in their helpfulness and best of all, they were unobtrusive - when you needed them they were there, when you did not not, they left you alone. Nothing appeared to be too much to ask, at whatever time. I am not sure of the route some of the other... More

Having read the negative reviews, I was not too happy when I discovered that we were staying in this hotel for a two-night business trip to Rome. I ended up in a terribly depressing, very small room without daylight, on the first floor next to the stairs. The shower was half-bust and the bed was lousy. When I complained about... More

Clean rooms - though some stink cold cigarette. Nasty and despising personal, really unfriendly. Matresses are super bad, awful climatisation in the room that cannot be manipulated (but it's always your fault if you sleep in a fridge, because you could have called the reception at 3 am to solve the problem). smallest shower ever. OK breakfast in the morning... More

Roomwise was comfortable, size was average but the bathroom was adequate and came with a bidet and includes a minibar fridge - godsend in the hot weather, we bought drinks from the supermarkets (Spar at Termini). TV - limited English choices, only BBC World and CNN. Only so many times you can watch the same news report. Breakfast had a... More

It was misleading to say that the hotel is a 5-minute walk to the Roma Termini Station. In sweltering heat we walked for more than 5 minutes. The Hotel Staff are so-so, not overwhelmingly friendly. I was itchy at night and wondered if there were bedbugs. When we returned to France and checked in to a new hotel I slept... More

I mean really. It's a nice little hotel not too far from major stuff in Rome. The front desk staff is superior! They gave us a free upgrade to a suite; nice! Some posts talk about the neighborhood being sketchy. It is not really and I am quite a xenophobe. Lots of working class immigrants from India (I think) and... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in Dec 09, in two rooms a double and a twin. We arrived at the hotel at 0600am, after a long flight from Australia. I had emailed ahead to advise we would arrive early and could we pay for an early check in. When we arrived the hotel staff took our bags up to... More

The hotel okay, the staff friendly, the rooms just about okay, BUT BAD BAD location, totally avoidable if with family, clearly not a four star hotel, makes three star. The location kills the place. Avoidable for the rates the hotel charges. More
